Edit: as for tailgating, it's pretty non-existent at the bowl. At least in '12 when we went. They do stacked parking there so you're right on top of other cars when you get parked.

I had Garden seats in 2018 for DMB and I thought I saw people around us who brought in meals. They even had their own silverwear and plates it seemed. It felt like a competition of who could bring the fanciest picnic.

Ah okay, they may have allowed food in then. In '12 I didn't think they did. Definitely not alcohol though. But yeah, it looks like on their page for the event it doesn't say anything about not allowing food.

My mother-in-law has a box at the bowl, we bring a 3-course meal whenever we go with her (including much alcohol). It's very nice for sure!

First time seeing DMB outside the lovely confines of The Gorge (14years strong). My 20 year old son surprised me with ticket's when he came home from college!!! Curious on what the L.A. vibe is compared to my DMB Gorge Crew. Mellow, uptight, loose?
Either way, can't wait to see the venue and hear Dave again!

Much different than Gorge vibe (nothing like it, anywhere). LA fans tend to be much more casual, I'd say. The fan base out west just isn't as strong as other places. It's still a great time and an iconic venue!

Honestly the Socal crowds are more enjoyable in my experience. Everyone is more relaxed and happy. Just a bunch of chill people enjoying the music. Less hardcore fans - mostly people who see them once a year and know all of the classics.

I still can't believe the Bowl two nighter is back. Second one ever. And one can only hope it's as memorable, epic, and guest filled as the two bowl shows in 07. Need that happy end of tour inspired and spontaneous Dave!

I'd say count on 730 start even though it's more like 745 the shows I've been to. But getting into the venue and up the hill to your seats if further up can take some time. I like to go to the tip top and take it all in before showtime.

I wouldn't be surprised if they start closer to 8. Knowing traffic/getting in. They might wait a little bit for people. Just a guess. But I would count on being in the venue by 7:30.

Find a garage near Hollywood/Highland. It may cost $20 and come with a hike but still better than getting out of the stack park fiasco. Or take the Metro red line to Hollywood/Highland stop.

I'd say slim to none. As someone who was at the Gorge, selfishly, I wouldn't want it to become a thing. I think N2 has the highest chance of it, but still slim.

So...I'm usually very good at getting out of parking lots (gotta be aggressive....) but it seems like HB is kinda a nightmare. What do the veterans of Hollywood Bowl recommend if we're staying in Santa Monica? Drive? Or do the shuttle?
