Re: *** Official Alpine 2022 ***

Looks like they last played Sat/Sun at Alpine in 2015 and then 2010 before that. I really didn't remember that they did that in 2015. 2015's Sunday show was released as Live Trax 36.

there's a lot of "traditions" that need to go away.

it's kind of like when the band comes up with a new outro to jimi, and then proceeds to run it into the ground for the next X years.

just do it a few times max and move on!

Hi everybody. Need advice for place to stay, affordable price. Near the lake it would be nice.
I requested tickets thru WH, let's see what's my luck here.

The hill is quite steep, and sprawling. The amp is set up in a way that you can have great sight and sounds from almost any spot on the lawn.

    Thanks.

I didn’t know that such a thing did exist: https://aviewfrommyseat.com/venue/Al...Music+Theatre/

Being a one-time experience, I will try to stay inside though

I will agree on this. It’s actually quite dangerous if there is even a little bit of rain. Last time I was there for Farm Aid, I saw an older woman separate her shoulder and tons of sober people falling. Mix in booze, some rain and the hill is a nightmare. I will be doing lowers.

Thank You chants was one of the worst to come out of Alpine. Just my opinion.

What I'm really wishing for at Alpine this year are two nights of just classic jam sets, a few rarities (which always happens at Alpine), and some long setlists, esp with the time being 30 minutes earlier than usual.
Really hoping for this right here. Give me those 2012 amounts of music

Here are some pictures I've taken from the lawn in recent years. The panorama isn't quite at the top of the lawn, but pretty close.

So, this'll be my first trip to Alpine, after knocking Gorge and SPAC off the list - is there an Alpine FAQ somewhere? Or perhaps any quirks I need to know about re: this venue and surrounding area? Or is it just pretty normal, nothing to be concerned with kinda thing...?

I've been all over the place to see them over the years. Just taking the venue in an of itself, it's pretty normal. The lawn can be pretty steep for some so depending on your health, you may want to avoid it. Of all venues I've been to, the premier parking is worth it when leaving the lot. Just my personal experience.

Alpine! Can’t wait to be back. Has anyone heard anything about camping at the venue? I remember they had it in 2016 but haven’t seen or heard about that option since.

Stupid question: I'm requesting tix on the WH, is it better to make the N1 random seating the 'priority show selection' of the series or N2 seniority seating. Which is more likely to bring the best results?

Maybe it's too early for campgrounds to announce plans. But looking for a campground that will have shuttles. Stayed at Bark River back in the day, but they have no info about upcoming season. Thanks for any feedback!

Planning a first time trip to Alpine. My body does not allow me to camp anymore, so any recommendations on hotels close to the venue would be greatly appreciated as well as any recommendations for Milwaukee as I've never visited. Interests include good breweries and restaurants/foods. Thanks!

Did just get in touch with Pat Mcintyre. She is indeed hosting for DMB weekend 2022. She did ask if I could call her after next week (sounds like she has guests out there right now and is pretty busy).

And to answer the question asked a page or so back about camping next to your car ive actually had it both ways at McIntyres....back in the day when there were way more people there we parked out on the street and hoofed our gear in. Over the last several years tho with less people allowed in ive been allowed to camp right next to my car.

So if shes keeping it small again (which I have to believe is the plan) id wager you can roll right in and setup by the vehicle.

Milwaukee is a great city, especially in the Summer. Lots to do downtown, anything at the lakefront. The Third Ward is full of restaurants, shops, I recommend hanging out there a bit. The Ale House is right in the river. Downtown near the Fiserv Forum has boomed. Old World 3rd Street is fun and the Deer District has breweries and local restaurants.

For breweries you have to do the Lakefront Brewery tour, you won’t be disappointed. While in the area Ealge Park Brewery is really good. City Lights, Good City, Third Space, MKE Brewing are all good options as well.

The venue is in the middle of farm country. The nearest larger town is Milwaukee, which is about 45 minutes from the venue. All the surrounding towns are very small. Parking is pretty easy, but just expect to wait about 20 to 30 minutes to get out after the show. It used to be much worse years ago, but they don't sell as many tickets as they used to. They sell merch outside the gate and that opens up when the parking lots open up, but if you miss out at that merch stand there are several inside after the gates open. Not much else too tricky about the venue though.

Depends on how long you've been in the WH. In almost 20 years, I have had some good N1 tickets, but usually not. With almost 20 years of tenure, I would rather be selected for N2.

similar to gorge, there are a lot of bad reserved seats at alpine, so take some care in seat selection

I'm officially booked (flights, rental car and hotel) for Alpine - I'm excited. She'll never see it, but extra thanks to my sister-in-law for not being too bitchy about my brother going with me 2 months after their new baby is born She's a keeper.

I concur.....Ive been stuck on the far side of the pavillion at Alpine more than once. One time I ventured up to the middle of the lawn out of frustration. Was better seats in the lawn than those specific far side ones.

I requested the upper echelon pavillion seats for N1 this year, Pit N2.....we will see how they treat me. Im a 14 year WH member, if seniority even applies anymore.....
