I just call my girlfriend Pat with McIntyre‘s and she’s definitely going to be open for business Fourth of July weekend for us Dave Matthews Band fans; she did state that she did want to wait a week or two for the show announcement buzz to wear off as her big concern is over-capacity; after talking with her a bit about what happened last time around with the county being called in, I’m surprised (and excited) to hear she is going to host us again. She threw out a number of “45-60” but didn’t catch if that was total tents/RV’s/open-air sleeping bags or total people. Told her I would call her back in a couple of weeks to get more details. Just excited she will be hosting again.

Are kids allowed to shows at Alpine Valley? Our 11 year old is interesting and going with my wife and myself.

Hey,

Every year since '99 I have seen kids there. Our 11 year old son went to Alpine on his 6th birthday. His 12th birthday is on Night 1 this year. He's excited as are we. People can be crazy there, but usually cool with kids.

We're camping at Bigfoot Beach State Park like we have most years.

Our oldest is now 10 and in 2012 he was 2 at his first Alpine show, hasn’t missed a show there since. To me is great venue for kids because it’s spread out and lots of open spaces.

Are you able to park remotely close to your actual camp site or is there like a parking area and then a “tent city” if you will?

I believe the Lodge has been sold out since Dec 10, when the rumor date firmed up. So, unless there have been cancellations, this isn't an option.

Not difficult.

That being said, this is my favorite lawn. I almost always do seats but at Alpine I do lawn. Sightlines are great, even from the absolutely last spot on the hill.

Our AirBNB actually went down $30.....as someone in Revenue Management I had to laugh but very happy they were able to make the change.

It's generally not difficult. It might be frustrating immediately at ticket drop time to find not-terrible reserved seats, but they generally release more seats over the months as the show approaches. You'll probably see lots of people selling extra reserved tickets in the ticket exchange forum between now and the show as well. So try during the ticket sale time, but don't worry if you don't get something there. I've had reserved tickets for all 26 of the DMB shows I've seen at Alpine.

Where’s everybody camping this year? Keeping my options open this year. Been to McIntyre’s and Rome Riverside previously. Would need a campground with a shuttle.

I love the Alpine lawn. it is steep, but it's great, and so open and fun.

If I make it back this year, I expect to do at least 1 night on the lawn..

I love that they are back at Alpine this year. I also love the fact they are going back to a Saturday/Sunday format as opposed to the Friday/Saturday setup they have done since post 2008, I believe. The Saturday/Sunday format always seemed more enjoyable. Not sure why... maybe it's because Friday seems like a more fun day for night 0. Just my opinion.

Chad, all good! I actually booked the Quality Inn and Suites in East Troy back in Nov of 2021 figuring they would be back. I booked Thurs-Mon just in case. Got much cheaper rates too!

Us yes we are! And I can't wait for a full band Thank You again. The Gorge was cool but wasn't same without Fonz and Carter.

One of the good things that came out of Alpine that was a "crowd addition" was the WOOs for WH or Joyride, can't remember which. I could be wrong though.

Thank You chants was one of the worst to come out of Alpine. Just my opinion.

What I'm really wishing for at Alpine this year are two nights of just classic jam sets, a few rarities (which always happens at Alpine), and some long setlists, esp with the time being 30 minutes earlier than usual.

The Thank You chants were fun the first time as a unique thing to mark the show, but they quickly wore out their welcome the following years. My wife and I always roll our eyes when they start up now. That being said, you do you if you want to do them. Just doesn't do anything for me (and seemingly other people as well). To me, it kind of feels like people trying to relive a mildly cool moment from high school years after they graduated.

Yeah, super surprised they did that since it's been so long, but I guess since Monday is a holiday it worked out better. Sunday shows at Alpine always had a reputation for being the best shows that were meant more for the hardcore fans.
