Very curious (as everyone is) what the price on this box set will be. Gonna have to do a lot of convincing on the wife to make it happen. Gonna guess 300.

$349 if you buy just the show sets, $360 ($344 + $16) if you add the Flatbed Jam, $21 if you buy just the Flatbed Jam disc.

Oof. Mastered by Bellman and the extra trinkets and stuff in the box are driving the price - it's $27.70 per disc if you get all 13.

Kinda bullshit they aren't offering free shipping on this, either. $410 after shipping and tax...merry christmas to me, I guess. But I don't feel great about it

was at the records store yesterday and was told the box will sell at retail. my store had a two day window to order copies from the distributor starting today. they did not know if the color would be different or not, but we were guessing no.

right? at this price at least include standard shipping in the total so we can pretend there was free shipping and feel *slightly* better about it.

I am also a sucker and bought the full set. However, my card was charged right away even though there was a disclaimer on the page that the card would not be charged until the item was ready to ship.

I'm hoping my wife will buy it for me for Christmas as I dropped some major hints this morning. May have already sent her a link. I dunno, we'll see.

at the very least, since phish vinyl tends to appreciate, we should be able to look at this as an investment with little risk. that's what i told the lady, anyway.

I need to relisten again, but I dont have anything that really sticks out in my mind from clifford ball besides the flatbed jam.

Thats such a crazy amount of money, so hilarious you can spend 100 at dry goods and get free shipping but spending 400 on the vinyl and they still charge you

Unpopular opinion, I was not blown away with the Clifford Ball. It might be my least favorite Phish festival (except for Curveball).

Honestly, this is partially why I haven’t pulled the trigger. If this was the Great Went box set, would be a different story.

I just feel like I'd be upset with myself if I missed a chance to get this. I'm putting it in my wife's hands, that way I can be mad at her if she decides not to get if for me and not be mad at myself.

Usually they send out a temp charge to make sure the money is there.

I didn't see the part about the charge not coming yet. I was thinking I'd use my Christmas bonus to pay this off. That was the only way I could justify it. I'd almost rather pay it off now than have a $400 charge hanging over me.

that is definitely an unpopular opinion but hey its cool. though i am surprised that you're ranking it below coventry...

that said...clifford ball was huge in so many ways. it really solidified phish's place in rock and roll since they were able to draw 70K people to an abandoned airfield for a weekend festival that only they performed at. it became a blueprint for festivals in the music industry. while 1996 is not highly regarded like 1995 and 1997 are, the fest had some great musical moments as well

I agree with everything in the second paragraph, just musically it didn’t get me there. 1996 is weird for me, I love 1995 and I’m obsessed with 97-98, but 1996 was a bit of a miss on me. The importance of the festival is definitely note worthy and awesome though. Great moment for the band making their mark.

Fair point about Coventry but honestly, I really do not consider that a festival at all. I know technically it was, but we all knew going it l the weekend it was the break up shows. I have honestly blocked it from my brain because I totally forgot about it. If counted, than yes, Clifford Ball over Coventry any day of the week .

Bought the Flatbed Jam record and am happy with just that. The box set looks great, but as others have already said in here, I don’t listen to Clifford Ball enough and don’t hold it in high enough regard musically to spend $400 on the set.

Gonna need to live vicariously through everyone else in here though lol

Can someone recommend a live phish album on vinyl for someone who does not have any live phish albums? Have been getting into them/jam bands in general lately and want to get a Phish show on vinyl but don't want to spend $400 if I don't have to. Thanks!

Also as someone who doesn't know much about live Phish, how are these Clifford Ball shows regarded amongst fans in the band's live repertoire?

Off the top of my head, the LP on LP series is your best bet price wise,
easy to obtain. The rest of live Phish on vinyl isn’t easy to come by (Bakers Dozen, NYE 95, A Live One, etc)
