Re: 2022 Tour Rumors / Confirmations

Scranton got nixed for the same reasons as Hershey. Lowering attendance and too close to other areas the band hits with regularity. Hershey is a shithole but was always a close option for me to sneak an extra show in (but that's within range of DC or Camden) - Scranton is apparently a great venue but going there means nixing a Holmdel or Jones Beach.

    Hartford needs to come back.

Would rather them just nix Holmdel and Jones Beach all together and play two nights at MSG each summer (and then another two nights at Camden way before or way after to space things out).

If they do a spring tour, definitely would like to see Vegas back.

when was the last full band show in vegas? I know they did D&T a few times but seems like a full band show was about 10 years ago? Maybe I am not remembering

About 2 weeks before the country shut down in March 2020.

They played the Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan in February of 2020 as a sort of warm up show of sorts for Innings Festival the next night.

Really great show with some rarities and old songs coming back. Dave's voice was great, the crowd was great and the band was tight. Hoping that if they do release a recent show soon, it will be the Vegas show.

2012 Scranton is one of my favorite shows. Band was on FIRE and man the crowd was awesome. One of my favorite mid-set Ants too.

Jane in the encore was an awesome surprise too.

does anyone know the attendance from the bethel show in 2019? DMB returned for the first time in 6 years as part of bethel's year long anniversary of woodstock. bethel is only a little over an hour from scranton, and was part of the northeast trim down after 2013 with scranton and hershey. if attendance was still meh for that show after a 6 year break, i doubt we'll see any of those 3 return. maybe they'll add something for an album tour, but i doubt it. i wish they would do a rotation to keep things fresh. do holmdel one year, scranton the next, bethel the next, then back to holmdel. all 3 of those are in fairly close proximity.

Thinking about this more - maybe even do weekends only. I remember U2 did that maybe 10 years ago? It was only one show/maybe two max but it was a new concept for them at the time. DMB can have a fri-sun weekend for each stop, three shows each - two if areas are closer.

Having fun with this.... Just glancing at the US map and trying to space out and maximize people driving in, etc.

    1) NYC area / New England?
    2) Charlotte Area / Southeast / florida also?
    3) Midwest - Deer Creek / Alpine? Do both?
    4) Dallas
    5) Denver
    6) LA / San Fran?

they'd never do this but eh. fun to think about.

I think they should play here (it's somewhat near Clemson). 15k capacity.

    https://ccnbamphitheatre.com/about/

Also they should play in Asheville. Not sure what size amphitheater would be there. There is most likely a minor league ballpark though.

Something like this would be awesome. A couple one offs to hit some smaller staple markets, but mostly 2-3 night stands and only weekends.

Bethel might be the most beautiful and well kept venue I've ever seen. Landscaping like a golf course. They need to go back there!

My thoughts too. Wrigley and Fenway are in the biggest cities of the country and are historic stadiums so selling those shows out won't be an issue.

i would think they could sell out those stadiums. For one night anyway. But who knows for sure.

I like the idea of doing the caravans every few years. Plus i think it would give them more of a break during the summer. Mixing it up is good. I like the mutli-night regional idea too. They should also do an AK and HI show at some point.

both MSG shows were advertised as sellouts and going on how many tickets were available day of show for each night (not many, if any), it was close enough for government work

Fair enough, I might have been thinking Mohegan that had all the day of tickets available. I am still very far from convinced this band is selling 40,000 seats at Wrigley, but what do I know!

I wonder, recently over the past few years, how many of those tickets were purchased by brokers, which then resulted in a "sell out", but then 5%-15% of the venue is still on "resale". And how many of the resale tickets go unpurchased, or eventually sold at a loss to the broker. But maybe, had the broker not purchased the tickets in the first place, a concertgoer would have at face, and venue would have sold out anyway. That's probably the case of these MSG shows. But then you see big stadium shows "sell out" and yet 20%-30% are still on resale day of show.

Re: 2022 Tour Rumors / Confirmations

I've been to 1 stadium show and it was Turner Field in Atlanta on 6.6.01. Had 8th row seats on the field in front of the stage. Awful show. Sound was terrible. Vibe was nothing. It was like watching a show in a parking lot in Idaho. Won't ever do a stadium show again.

I predict the usual Tuesday or Wednesday night Oak Mountain in April or early May.

They definitely would not. MSG holds 20k. Concert capacity at Citi Field is double that, and I don't even think they sold it out when they played it in 2010. MSG N2 was definitely a sell out. N1 was borderline as there had been a lot of tickets available the days leading up to the shows.

I'd love to see the band play Fenway. Missed the last two times due to scheduling and it seems Fenway always gets a rocking show.
