Re: I Know I Know but... Next Live Trax Please

I was at the first two nights of the Gorge. Didn't think it was worthy of a box release, or any significant release like LT44. And I enjoyed my shows.

I'm on the other side after relistening to N1 this morning. I think they were really strong. I was shitfaced during the show and N1 is definitely the night i needed to revisit haha

that said, i dont think it'll be nearly as impactful a release if the next three or four shows are also alternate lineup. Then the Gorge shows would likely lose there uniqueness

Well, the gasp made throughout the crowd when Dave announced Carter and Stefan tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 N1 when he came out definitely made N1 unique in the annals of this band’s history.

Looks like a great set. I'm definitely ordering this. Will be great to hear super early Crush, DDTW, Rapunzel & Stay even if they are your typical setlist offenders from BTCS year in year out

Umm, it happens to be Stir It Up.

If you'd asked me yesterday (before the announcement), I would have guessed that LiveTrax 57 would not have been a 1998 concert (so I was wrong)
    AND
I would have predicted it would come from a state or country that they had not released a show from (I was wrong again),
    AND
The LiveTrax 57 merchandise will have the venue/city/state of the concert on it, because people from that area, or who have fond memories of the venue/area will buy the merchandise, even if they weren't at that concert (and the LiveTrax 57 merch doesn't mention the city, state or venue so I was wrong again).

Jeff Coffin posted on FB after last nights show, it was his favorite of the year so far. 9/11/21.....perhaps foreshadowing the next Live Trax or the Warehouse show for next year. Just a thought.

Dave also spoke very positively about the show Chicago N2 after the encore break. That could be a contender.

But I don't really think the band has much control over the live releases anyway.

I agree. I wish I knew how the releases are picked. I wanna be in the room when they throw the darts and the dates. It's fun to speculate though. Maybe the holiday release will be Alpine 2012 with DVD's...BOTH NIGHTS. Doubtful, I'm sure.

The band is active in the LT releases.

I certainly can’t speak to why or how they choose what they do but they are very cognizant of what gets released.

I would imagine they do, but to what extent I have no idea. I figure the core guys have to at least acknowledge/sign off on the selections. I wonder which shows they do or don't remember playing. I've seen Dave comment about shows from the past before (Giants stadium 2001, opening for the Dead in '95).

I wonder what the Christmas LT will be? Something they have source material to do a legit BD (something that doesn't cause a fiasco like LT40 where you had kinddog getting into it with dobyblue over it)? So something newer? I'd seriously welcome more Come Tomorrow songs.

Would anyone welcome another live trax similar to live trax 30? Like a best of weekend? I think it would be nice for them to release the best of the 3 night stand at Giants Stadium 2000. I only say that because there were a good amount of repeats. Maybe something like this.

    Warehouse N2
    TSTJL N1
    One Sweet World N1
    Rhyme and Reason N3
    Bartender N3
    Sweet Up and Down N3
    36 N1
    Grey St N1
    Drive In Drive Out N2
    Granny N2
The Best of What’s Around N3
    Busted Stuff N1
    Satellite N2
    Lie In Our Graves N1
    JTR N1
    Two Step N2
    Grace N1
    Heartbeat N1
    Rapunzel N1

    Thoughts about something like this?

I'm hoping for a big Caravan blowout. Would love the full randalls or Gorge weekend. That said, I understand it's not likely they do the full weekend as a LT, but would be sweet

The Dead are starting to release full legs of tours or multiple shows across stops. would be cool for DMB to start doing some of that every few years. The LT series has gone on so long, they might as well start making stuff crazy. Do a LT 30 style option of a compiliation, but allow fans to preorder the full weekend

Most of the Gorge stop was broadcasted, so I'm sure that would go over well around here. But I'd be down with all three Randall Island nights being released in a box set!

I listened to these shows a week or so ago and had the same sentiment regarding repeats. The performances were pretty solid though with high energy. There is a SBD in circulation of 7.12 so not exactly a prime candidate for official release in my book.

I got through the months of June and July on my Summer 2000 revisit and feel that I enjoyed 6.29 the most. Given all the equipment that was on hand for 6.30 perhaps a release could happen one day. That said, we have four releases from Summer 2000 so I might not mind a Winter 2000 release... looks like I just stumbled on my next revisit.

The webcast audio rips of the Gorge Caravan are not the best. I’d gladly take official LT-quality audio for those shows. And the Randall’s Island weekend. I really want that Stone opener from N3 released in some fashion! Great version.

Maybe just do a LiveDMB+ thing and release every show.

    I’ve said my piece. 😂
