Kings of Leon just postponed their show at Blossom tonight, following a crew member testing positive. I imagine now their entire traveling organization will have to be tested. Hopefully none of their other shows are affected, I’ve got tickets for their Riverbend show.

I think if they’re even considering the possibility of cancelling shows, they should cancel everything leading up to the Gorge. Just take the next two weeks off.

Then, before the Gorge, everyone in band and crew can take Covid tests independently of each other. That way, if a crew member tests positive, they can simply stay at home.

I've selfishly said I wanted a 2 week shutdown pre-gorge all along.

Yeah the Gorge is the one stop that almost everyone is traveling some considerable distance to. It would really screw a lot of people to have to cancel those shows at the very last minute. So really hope leading up to those shows they are taking precautions.

As much as I’d feel for the fine people of Pennsylvania and VA Beach, I think the logistics of fans getting to the Gorge is something you don’t want to risk having to cancel.

Full disclosure, I have Burgettstown tickets, so I don't want that date to be cancelled, lol, but if there was any year to buy travel insurance, this was the year. I read somewhere that for big tours like this, 4 or 5 shows is the profit margin, everything else covers expense. I wouldn't count on cancellations of everything leading up to the gorge to protect people's travel expenses, i doubt management cares (the band might, but their management probably couldn't care less). They have 6 shows and a festival between now and gorge. I also wonder how the Friday Sirius/XM broadcasts factor in, financially--is it just part of the larger XM agreement or do they get a per-show bonus for the live feeds?

I do think that if they decided to shut things down, due to Covid concerns, the Gorge would be a natural stopping point.

I don't think any shows SHOULD be cancelled, especially with the new protocols. I have tickets to Burgettstown, Blossom, and Columbus coming up (I am not going to the Gorge), but if they decided to change course, I could see why they would at least want to make it to at least those 3 Gorge shows.

I also have tickets to see the Stones at Heinz Field in October, really hope that doesnt get axed again. I just find it silly to allow NFL games at full capacity, but hold outdoor shows to a different standard.

yeah, sorry about the random one off Pittsburg show that very few people travel across the country for, but if it means a gorge weekend would happen, I have no problem saying shut it down.

do I want shows cancelled? hell no.

my comment wasn't to say they should cancel shows, it was saying I wish there was nothing going on for the next two weeks to ensure gorge happens..

I don't care what tickets anyone has--the gorge is by far and away the most logistically invested shows all tour, and that's undeniable.
