I think he is a good coach too, but even good coaches make mistakes. Who wants to draft Kirk Cousins or Andy Dalton with the 3rd pick, that you gave up 3 first rounders for?

I'm not saying you would want to. I'm saying IF Shanahan does take Jones, maybe it's because he knows more about QBs than media talking heads and fans. He's shown he knows what he's fucking doing at that position...

In 2016, Ryan set career records in completion %, yards, TDs, TD %, Y/A, Y/C, and INTs. And his rating was 10 pts higher than any other year and 23 pts above his average.

    RGIII's rookie season was amazing.

And he was able to get to a Super Bowl with Jimmy G and get an undrafted QB to put up decent numbers.

I don't know why you're pushing back on Shanahan obviously elevating those players.

I said he was good. I don’t know why you’re acting like he is god OC to justify a draft pick they haven’t made yet.

If they draft Jones they will be drafting another QB within 4 seasons, is all I said

What was the last non mobile QB that succeeded in the league not named Brady or Manning?

All I said was maybe let's give the guy who has done really well with QBs and running offenses some leeway...

You can disagree on Jones not working out. I'm just saying I'll bet on the guy with a pretty proven track record making the pick over the "draft experts" who throw shit at a wall and hope something sticks.

The only mobile QBs that have won the SB in the past 20 years are Rodgers (1), Wilson (1), and Mahomes (1).

The non-mobile QBs that have won SBs in that span:

    Dilfer (1)
    Brady (7)
    Johnson (1)
    Roethlisberger (2)
    P. Manning (2)
    E. Manning (2)
    Brees (1)
    Flacco (1)
    Foles (1)

Not looking good for mobile QBs...

That were good to great QBs. Maybe Stafford, Goff sorta maybe, Carr is okay.

Not really talking SBs team win.

And I’d put Ben and Brees in that Rodgers slot

Rodgers was 3rd in QB rushing yards when he won the SB (356 yards).

    Big Ben was 18th and 20th (101 & 69 yards).

    Brees was 37th (33 yards).

They're not comparable at all to Rodgers.

Ok, if we're not talking SB wins...then Rivers, Big Ben, and Brees last year. A combined 0 rushing yards among the three of them.

Or are you talking about younger, non-established players?

You’re literally giving me QBs drafted back in the early 00s/late 90s

    Kinda proves my point

Ok...Goff, Garoppolo, Cousins, Foles, Stafford, Flacco.

2 SB wins, 2 SB losses, and 2 perennial top 15 QBs in the last 9 seasons.

And the legends winning most of the other SBs during that span are non-mobile.

Stafford isn’t bad, Goff and Jimmy G suck, Foles? Lol

Cousins is okay, can’t spell elite without Flacco and he was drafted in 2008

How many Super Bowls have Jackson, Murray, Newton, Watson, Allen, Trubisky, and Prescott been to?

    2008 isn't late 90s/early 00s, right?

    2021-2022 NFL Season

    Manning and Brady,

Go back to 2010, Ryan is a good example of one that’s not a great athlete, Stafford in 09

2010 Bradford goes #1 he gets hurt because he can’t move out of the way gets hit too much

After that the best examples, Dalton maybe, Carr, Goff made a super bowl but he can’t elevate to that next level.

That’s where I’d put Mac Jones...that Dalton, Carr, at best Goff group.

How many guys that play like Mac Jones does it work for anymore? Being able to run around buys you time to develop. See Josh Allen

How many QBs under 35 would you want that plays the position like that anymore. pocket passer that is immobile

    Allen ran a 4.63-4.76 40 time. Jones ran a supposed 4.68-4.85 40 time.

He's not Tom Brady slow lol.

Running around to buy time is way different then running in a straight line in perfect conditions.

    MaHomes isn’t exactly a burner.

He had an FBS top 10 offensive line and was arguably the best QB in the nation against the blitz. He didn't need to scramble. I don't know why that's being held against him.

I don't know why you're holding different standards for Brady/Manning (and the other lesser mobile NFL QBs) and Mac Jones. You don't have to be a great scrambling QB in the NFL to be successful...even today.

It’s almost like having an offensive line is more important than a QB’s mobility.

Deshaun Watson's lawyer said Friday there were some "consensual encounters" between the Texans quarterback and some of the women who have filed lawsuits against him, but said Watson never engaged in any acts that were not "mutually desired."

I'm willing to give Lynch/Shanahan the benefit of the doubt that they're smarter and know their personnel better than Mike Brown if they pick Jones at 3.
