Re: Random dmb thoughts that don't need their own thread

I had a dream last night that I went to see a D&T show. It started with these little girls doing a song first, and I thought that was a neat if a little out of place, but figured hell, Dave is a family man and is always showcasing random talent. Then he just proceeded to keep doing songs with kids and it became a children's show and Tim never showed up. Everyone in the crowd was just yawning and wondering wtf was going on. The table I was seated at started talking about how "this was Dave's new sound now" as he was running around a stage with an Easter backdrop. Very strange dream. Dave let me play his guitar though!

I've never seen this version and its a pretty interesting addition of vocals by Ivete Sangalo on You and Me. Would love to hear the back story on why she sang on this song with the band.

that's an interesting version, wish they would have arranged it to be a bit more in her range rather than have the verses just scrape the bottom of what she could comfortably hit

I was just looking on Nugs.net and sorted by latest show and they randomly added the Brixton show from 09 that was part of that Europe box set. No other new DMB shows.

Nice, that was the DVD right? I don't think I have good audio of that one but could be wrong.

It’s funny to me how dead (boring) DMBc is right now since management hasn’t given us ANY news about this summer or any potential album... got threads about “DMB pet bakery names”, “Listening to shows from the worst album tour ever”, “DMB mortuary names”...

Looking forward to the offseason coming to an end

Live Trax 9 is often passed up in my listenings and i agree with most its a poor release. But the Seek Up and both Makers are absolute gems. During Boyds solo on Seek, listen to the subtle horn section build up towards the end.. so good.

Just the fact that they repeated two covers that weekend… what were they thinking releasing it.

The guitar part is really cool. I like when Dave comes up with the new wave, Andy Summers-esque riffs.

Can someone give me a short and sweet review of LT 31? I want to download it to snag a ED/LWS tour and hear Mother Father live, but I just want to see what others thoughts are on it first.

Really nice mix, good show flow, fantastic versions of Everyday (love the outro on this one), Satellite, JTR, What You Are, has a Prelude to Grace on it which I think was the only time played..it's a great show and is absolutely worth buying. Mother/Father is powerful on it, too. Can't really think of anything bad about that show, it's top 10 LT for me

This message board desperately needs some album or tour or drive-in news and not another "DMB-related name" thread.

    I know right?

The band is probably finalizing all the new late 2021 or 2022 dates before they pull the trigger on the announcement It's maddening, though.

Lots of logistics to figure out, no doubt. They could've outright canceled several weeks ago, the way that many acts have already done. Hopefully the longer wait means something is brewing.

At the very least, the Sirius request show will give the boards something to chat about later this week.

I have read that it was written during the Lillywhite Sessions, and somehow speaks about the difficult times Dave had after losing his father.

I wondered about this as well. Very interesting question. Regardless, it's a stellar song that holds it own among tLWS tunes.

Thanks for that link. Very insightful. I never would have gone that deep into the meaning, allegory of the lyrics on those. But they certainly help explain the

I love You Never Know and always wondered why it never became a live staple after it's first year debut. Similar I guess to Dreaming Tree, it just doesn't fit in the setlist that often in terms of flow... But the band always nailed it I thought.
