The structure behind him looks like the ticket scanning gates, so it's probably the grassy area just to the left as you walk in. There's usually port-o-potties there in recent times.

My first show there was in 2000. I had actually gone to the campground in 1999 with friends just to camp and party (I wasn't into the band yet), I could hear some of the show from D9, but I can't count that one, haha.

Regrettably, while Labor (Labour to me) Day weekend 2021 will happen at the Gorge and elsewhere, I don’t expect DMB to be there.

Yeah, pretty blessed to have Heaven's Amphitheater in my back yard. I try not to take it for granted. It's also been interesting to watch it evolve over the years.

My only regret is not having travelled around to other revered venues in the early 2000s.

What have been the biggest changes over the years? I'd love to see the documentary on the Gorge at some point.

It sounds like it was being shown places in early 2020, but maybe Covid put a halt to a wider release. Hopefully they get some distribution on a streamer like Hulu or Amazon. They seem to like to show docs like this.

    https://www.dancemusicnw.com/enormou...y-documentary/

The changes have been around the structures and concessions, mostly the infrastructure stuff to support the amount and variety of shows over the years. It felt more bare bones in the earlier 2000s. Camping options have expanded with Premier and Gold and offsite camping like Wild Horse. And Cave B was a great addition both for the musical acts and concert goers.

Wasn't there a documentary they showed about the Gorge venue after the Friday and Saturday night shows at Gorge 2019? I walked past it leaving the venue but I was too tired to stay. It was like in the main little field just inside the venue entrance, before the concessions.

I have a similar regret, and I think it's worse considering most of those venues are drive-able for me. I didn't finally knock the Gorge off my bucket list this last go around, and was scheduled to go to SPAC the past year pre-COVID.

It is called "Enormous: The Gorge Story" and I have been looking to buy/watch a copy of it since I heard it playing at the gorge in 2019 as well. I sat next to a guy on the lawn that had free tickets because he was with the production company.

Not sure why I threw in the part about the guy, it is meaningless to this conversation. If you ever find a copy of it please PM. I have no problem purchasing it if it were available.

Interesting and I guess a lot of it is to be expected the more often that big acts go there, loved Cave B and got to play there which I hope to do again!

I keep checking Southwest's flight calendar every morning....to see when it'll finally expand beyond the current date of August 16. Still holding out hope for The Gorge this year.

I'm hoping for the same, already booked Wanapam campsite. Heading out there for 10 days either way but really wanted to end the week at the Gorge. Fingers crossed that we hear something soon.

Well looks like Southwest has set a date for opening their calendar. On April 22 they’ll open the schedule between Aug. 17 and Nov. 6. Hopefully by mid-April we’ll know more about what’s happening (or not happening).

Vaccine requirement + 18+ admittance only is my guess. I'm optimistic only because Biden stated clearly that ALL adults will have access to vaccine by end of May.

0-17 year olds will not have that same access quite yet.

Like I said, I'm hopeful. This is speculation, but my guess is that post-august break as told by the initial tour schedule will be the first shows of 2021 and Dave will add additional shows for a late summer/fall tour

I don't see why they couldn't just allow full admittance without a vaccine requirement by that point tbh.

Vaccine or negative test within a week is my guess. It makes sense with the camping and all.

I don’t understand why on earth there wouldn’t be a late summer / early Fall tour at this point. If you’re too big of a jackass to get a vaccine and still show up in a crowd and get sick and die, that’s on you.

Yep.I doubt there will be summer shows at all (June - Aug), but by September shit should be normal.

Manifesting this Gorge weekend into existence along with some sound logic.

Re: ***Labor Day Weekend at the Gorge 2021***

For all the opinions, nobody here is going to have any say in what ends up happening. Personally, I don't think we'll see any shows this year.

There are 2 issues at play. First, whether the concerts starting in September will be 100% viable, with large enough capacities allowed to make it financially successful for the DMB organization. And will they know this with enough lead time, perhaps 3 months, in order to put tour plans in motion. That means by June for the September shows.

The other issue is whether they will want to do a partial tour of just the dates starting with The Gorge. There are lots of costs and logistics involved, and it might not make economic sense to get everything up and running, just for a 5-6 week run.
