The party stayed strong enough in suburbs, with college educated whites etc.

The tax cut didn't get passed, but it wasn't popular anyway. Immigration numbers are better and we allow more refugees to enter.

About 100,000 less Americans have died and we are in a much stronger position to fight covid. The fall wave is still starting though and clinton is being blamed by Republicans for not doing more.

Does President-Elect Trump undo all of the Hillary-led progress on fighting COVID? Or does he just maintain her momentum, take credit for the vaccine ("They pushed it through after election day because they knew I won, and the scientists, they're smart people, they wanted you to be ready and healthy when I'm in control!"), and not much changes?

When did Trump start saying the lincoln stuff? I feel like it was in the last 2 years.

He said something a couple of days ago that caught my eye. He said that people wrongly think that lincoln was a democrat. That's a tell for me. It's very similar to his "people don't know that" stories. He tells those when he learns something new. I think that Trump learned that lincoln was a republican sometime during his tenure as president.

Oddly enough, in CNN's 2nd debate focus group of undecided voters in NC, one of the 4 who were still undecided said that he was leaning towards Biden but had concerns he would "make abortion on demand"; saying that if Barrett were confirmed, he'd feel better about voting Joe.

Wonder if it will be, in hindsight, a smart move to take SCOTUS off the ballot while your team is down in early votes and needs a strong election day turnout...without a carrot to dangle.
