well not only did I not think it was a thing of "it's most likely he signs here in Philly", nothing I was saying in that post was based on a pretext of him definitely coming here.

just saying

The Angels offense is putting up runs but also their pitching staff is giving up as much or more than they're scoring. Ohtani would have been a big help to their pitching staff but obviously he can only hit right now. (and not until May)

They should have spent money on pitching in this past offseason. Their most expensive pitcher is Matt Freaking Harvey.

Wow, good for him. He’s the only player I would even consider being worth over $350 million, let alone $400 million.

Eh it’s spring training, I don’t like to look at stats now. I mean the Red Sox are in last place in the Grapefruit League, lol. They’re not that bad.

I wasn't looking at spring training I was looking at their season finishes for the last few years.

The Phillies I think will be a good measure on the health of baseball attendance

When Phillies were good they led the league in attendance in 2011 at 45.5 k per game. They dropped in 2017 to 23.5 k per game. Huge swing

This is assuming Phillies are good

Astros locked Bregman up. 6 years $100m. buys out three arbitration years and 2 years of free agency.

Seattle is currently your AL West leader.

Wow didn't realize both Ichiro and Bartolo are older than me. Any other players in their early 40's?

Fernando Rodney turned 42 on 3/18 - he's under contract with A's this year.

He's already had 2 scoreless appearances thus far this year

Details on Trout's extension. It's basically a 10 year / 360 million dollar extension. He was owed 33.25 million a year for the next 2 years - the 12 year deal is worth 426.5 million. There is some money shifting around though.

Years 1 & 2 = 36 million each year (an extra 2.75 million per year than he was scheduled to make, 1st year is 16 million salary / 20 million signing bonus), and then the next years, his salary is $35,450,000 per year.

He's going to FA so someone will most definitely pay that. Pretty rare for a talent like Mookie to hit FA
