Re: *** Official Deer Creek 2019 ***

Pumped for another creekend! Staying at Embassy again this year. It’s newer, has a decent little bar with a happy hour full of fans. We walked one night and took an Uber the next. It’s a bit of a hike but we enjoyed it. Embassy, Cambria and Holiday Inn are all walkable but might be close to sold out by now, so hurry and take a look if you’re interested.

I think the best thing about the venue is the atmosphere. Last year we were in the lower pavilion and all throughout the shows you could look back and feel the energy from the lawn all the way down. Fans are engaged throughout so much of the night, which I dig. It’s a great venue to get super close if you can’t get pit or just prefer a seat. And then there was that Two Step...

Embassy and Cambria are both sold out; they are the closest. I would look into AirBnBs in the Area. Sleepy Bear Campground, if you're into camping, is directly across the street from the venue within stumbling distance and is a great time. Others camp at Green Acres, and there are a few more nearby.

I have a room booked at the Embassy, but our plan is to camp at this point - when we make a final decision I'll be happy to transfer my Embassy room to someone here that needs it, will update the thread.

Stayed at the Embassy last year and there was a party bus that you could sign up for that drove you to the show and back. Free drinks on the bus and I think it might've been $30 roundtrip? Can't get an uber that cheap after the show so definitely worth it. Hope they do it again this year.

Seriously....party bus is great but $30 for what is literally less than a 5 minute drive?!

Deer creek ants: are there any cool pre game bars where the dmb fans meet up? How about restaurant recommendations in the area. Thanks in advance guys.

Highly recommend FoxGardin in Fortville, about 15 minues from the venue. It is locally owned by great friends of mine and they often have live music on their small stage, and have an outdoor patio. Prime steaks as well as cheaper options, sandwiches, etc. Sometimes they have specials if you show your ticket! Tons of chain restaurants very close to the venue--I love Chuy's.

Bummed. Looking like this will be first year since 1998 that I will miss Deer Creek. We have had a vacation planned for several months. Slight possibility of making it back in time for N2, we’ll see.

I'm from NE Ohio and last year was my 1st Creek trip. The venue itself reminds me a lot of the old Polaris Amphitheater in Columbus, if you ever happened to see any shows there.

I booked Cambria based on the rumors this year. But last year we stayed one exit down the highway, drove and tailgated. The drive was really easy, about 10 min each way. Wife and I had a helluva weekend, looking forward to it again this summer!

I know I'm going to get shitty Ticketmaster pulls.

I'll probably be in the lawn, which is okay. Seats for Friday night would be great.

Does anyone request camping right at the venue? I saw that you can but don't see anyone talking about that. Is it a bad place to camp? What is the best place to camp? We have an RV that we really don't want to move once we are setup but if there arent any good camping options close enough to walk we will pack up each day to go to the lot. First time doing the Creek. Trying to make sure I don't make the wrong choice to start.

If I recall correctly, at the venue there’s a big gravel lot for RV camping. It’s right next to the big field used for tent camping, which is only for cars.

The RV camping lot is pretty spread out with a lot of space for each RV (at least it was in 2015 when I was last there).

There's absolutely no shade in the venue camping; not that you'd need it with an RV. Green Acres and Sleepybear both offer RV camping (no hookups) and have some facilities on site and shade, etc... bonfire at night. Sleepy Bear is directly next door (you can see it from Venue camping)

IMO, Green Acres is a far better experience, but it's also a few miles away so you can't walk to and from the shows. The drive is super quick and we like to tailgate, so this has never been a deterrent for my group, but something to be aware of. Sleepybear is a lot smaller and more crowded, but it's literally right across the street from the venue, so if being able to walk to and from the shows is a priority, that's the better bet in that regard.

Dead Creek is where lots of Creek Ants stay, along with Sleepybear. Those that are wanting more space and shade tend to stay at Green Acres and Backstage Campground. I wouldn't recommend the venue camping to anyone, it looks miserable, unless you like camping in a parking lot.

Thinking of making this trip from NY as a first timer to this venue, and actually IN as a whole. Anyone mind shedding some light on a couple questions...

If I don’t go through WH, are decent pavilion singles attainable on TM once the general sale opens?

How easy is it to get from Indianapolis Airport to the venue area? Likely just Ubering it.

Are there any breweries or solid places to grab food & pints near the venue?(walking distance)

    Any info appreciated!

Attended my first concert at Deer Creek in 2003. Had never been to a concert in general so went with lawn because I didn't know any better. Didn't have the best experience due to my surrounding neighbors so I began a WH membership and have been using it for pavilion tickets since while still getting lawn a time or two. I haven't went through TM since that initial concert, but while looking last year most of what I saw pavilion wise were being sold for approximately 2-2.5x face value. I opted out of lawn this year so I could be in the public scene myself depending on how WH treats me.

The airport is on the southwest side of Indy as the venue is on the northeast side. It's majorly interstate and highway. So its fairly easy getting to the venue, but still probably looking at a 30-45 minute drive.

As far as food, bars, etc, to my recollection there isn't anything within walking distance. The venue is more in a suburb setting with housing additions close around. There are plenty of commercial places within a 10-15 minute drive, but you'd have to find someone with a little more knowledge on that subject than I. We always try to get there as the parking gates behind the stage open so we can possibly get placed in the grass parking compared to the gravel lots.

Deer Creek has popped up on my radar now as a possibility. I know you're a big fan of Green Acres and I'm open to that this year, not doing sleepybear again.

How are the facilities? Do they have showers and bathrooms? Sell ice? All that good stuff

    Re: *** Official Deer Creek 2019 ***

Looks like I'll probably be doing Deer Creek on Friday night. I have some friends from the Akron area who always go to Blossom. I was supposed to go with them last year, but had to cancel those plans last minute. Since they got fucked out of a show this year, they're going to DC and asked if I'd want to come along. HELL YEAH! Unfortunately I can't do Saturday, because there's a family wedding on the 29th. My friends are part of a bigger group of DMB fans who always do lawn. So I'll probably do lawn for Deer Creek N1 with them, and then try to score some decent seats for my wife and I for the Riverbend show. Being on a Tuesday, Riverbend shouldn't be too difficult to get something good. I won't do lawn at Riverbend, but it's not bad at Deer Creek.

    Can't wait for summer!
