Song Exploder is pretty great, just discovered that one. I don't know most of the songs that are covered on the podcast, but it's interesting nonetheless.

I spend 4-6 hours per day in the car, and here is my current subscribe list in order of awesomeness. I've listened to every available episode for all of these, including everything in their feeds:

    Dan Carlin's Hardcore History
    Reply All
    Sword and Scale
    Common Sense with Dan Carlin
    The Moth Podcast
    Serial
    How To Do Everything
    FRONTLINE: Audiocast | PBS
    Mystery Show
    Invisibilia
    Real Time with Bill Maher
    History On Fire
    NPR Politics Podcast

    Criminal
    A Cast of Kings
    This American Life
    --------------------------------------
    TED Radio Hour
    Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!
    Freakonomics Radio

The last three are in jeopardy of joining Professor Blastoff and How Did This Get Made? on the list of recently fallen heroes. Since I started running through the GoT books on Audible at 30+ hours each, it's been hard to keep these three in the mix.

Looking to get more into podcasts. Only regularly listen to two right now. Waking Up With Sam Harris and Dan Carlin's Hard Core History. Can't decide if I want to start a story one (like Serial) or just get into one that has random, kind of unrelated episodes.

This American Life is always a top choice for unrelated episodes.

I've been enjoying Modern Love which is a 30 min episode of different celebrities reading peoples story of love (which were published in the NY Times). All different kinds of love, some sad, some funny, some happy.

I dunno, I found it interesting.

i just blazed my way through all 3.5 season of StartUp in less than 2 weeks. My wife and I started our own small business together so a lot of it hit close to home - sometimes too close to home Really great podcast to listen to if you're looking to hear the nitty-gritty of starting / running your own business.

I think I'm gonna give Reply All a chance next.

Hilarious. Each week they talk about a different serial killer. Last week was part 1 of the menendez brothers---- this week they wrapped it up.

Gimlet is putting out some good stuff. Mystery Show is really good. Sampler is solid. I think they just bought Science Vs, which was pretty good already and I'm sure will get better under Gimlet.
The only one of theirs that I don't like is Surprisingly Awesome.

Agreed. SVP was awesome last week. And Stingray Steve brought a smile to my face this morning with his call of the Chris Davis punt return. More people should take a cue from these guys, not everything has to be life or death. Laugh about the things that don't matter all that much.

The guy who does Song Exploder does a West Wing podcast with Josh Malina (played Will Bailey on TWW) called West Wing Weekly.

It's fucking great. I look forward to every Wednesday.

I just finished the book. So now I want to start the podcast. Didn't realize there is almost 100 episodes.

Is it one long story or is each episode a stand alone?

I had to largely give up on JRE a few years ago. He just says way too much ludicrous stuff that's intended to be credible. I understand his target demographic loves the things he says and attempt at getting 'deep', but it doesn't take long to see through his anecdotes & non-credible guests (and Alex Jones is even worse in that regard). I will occasionally listen to him if there's a good guest - recent Bill Burr episode as an example. Sometimes check in for MMA analysis/news, too.

Yea I'll listen to Joe Rogan if there's a guest I'm interested in. Otherwise the podcasts run too long and too frequent to keep up.

PMT is the best sports podcast by far. Satirical yes, but they usually have great interviews as well.
