A few years ago at the gym a middle-age woman was telling me about her nephew who was a prospect in the Yankees' farm system. At the time I had no idea who he was and thought to myself "Yeah, good luck seeing any playing time in the majors, kid".

Her nephew is Greg Bird. Oops.

So we have a solid 3rd place squad this year? Got to be honest I haven't followed much of the hot stove this year. Chapman is the only big move I know about.

So I'm at work watching game 4 of the 98 WS and I just heard the worst national anthem ever. Lisa Nicole Carson is her name and she was a "star" on Ally Mcbeal apparently (Fox show). I really hope someone lost their job over that awful anthem.

They'll compete just like they did last year. They have a bullpen built to help their fragile starters and I have faith in the aging lineup to do enough to battle for a WC again.

I honestly won't be surprised where they end up at the end of the year, whether that's AL East champs, one of two WCs, or 3rd place in the division.

Maybe some 2000 WS Game 5 action can spark some enthusiasm for the upcoming season. I'm just trying to remember the good days and make this Monday a little more tolerable.

Nice under the radar signing of Vinnie Pestano to solidify the middle innings or be a situation guy. 3 pitches with his fastball topping out around 92 usually and a career ERA of 2.98 and 244 K's.

They have virtually priced out all but people who can drop over a grand for 4 seats, a few drinks and some food. It is cheaper for me to take a one week vacation on a cruise to the Caribbean out of New York (excluding my bar tab obviously) than to purchase one of their damn premium seats. I am lucky to only be two hours from Boston so I can go up to Fenway for Yankee games and pay far less.
