I use the soft ear plugs that are purple and you can buy at Stop n Shop by Care One for $3 a box.

I'm telling you, if you put in the soft earplugs before you go to sleep, you will be off to la la land (not the movie) and won't wake up until your alarm goes off. Has worked for me for over a year and I sleep great now.
