the reason some didnt look too dead (like the mother) is cuz of 2 reasons:
1. how long have the been zombies? this dictates their state of decay
2. how badly were they bit/attacked when human? this is why some of them are missing body parts or ripped up, and some look pretty clean

Yeah, I understand that. And yes, they definitely put some money into the crawling zombie. But otherwise, the make up is ehhh for most of the zombies. The mother, they tried to make appear more human for emotional impact.
That's really my only complaint and it's a pretty minor complaint. The story and pacing were very well done.
