There was one place in particular I was looking at where all the reviews noted it was a really nice condo but is right adjacent to a housing project and the area wasn't safe to walk in at night. Most places though all seem like great spots, think I'll go that route.

I wouldn't walk from East Nashville to Bridgestone/Broadway, but it would be a cheap Uber ride away.
While downtown is what most tourists know, there are a lot of awesome bars and restaurants in East Nashville.
