Do you think it could have raised more funds as a raffle type thing? Like you donate $20 per entry into a drawing for the call. All money still goes to charity put the ebay format instantly eliminates the vast majority of people who could be interested in this. I probably would have donated $20 to a good cause and a chance, albeit small, of getting a zoom call with Dave or any other celebrity that piqued my interest.
