As for entry, depends on how close you want to get. I like hanging out in the back of the pit so I have easy in/out for bathrooms and beer. Anywhere in the pit is plenty close enough for me, so I'd rather take my time, chill and grab food/beer and wander in closer to the start of the show. If you want to get CLOSE, there's usually early entry for WH ticket holders so I'd get there a little before doors open. That's not my style but it is for some.

There is also the lottery for WH pit. So if you plan to do that you’ll want to get there earlier for a number. On the WH for day of events they post the time and procedures for the lottery
