Nothing touches that era DMB for me but the wall of sound, rushing through it, no dynamics etc. I find to be much more the case '09 - '16 along with horrible crunchy electric tone and several other issues. It's absolutely a different sounding band now and it'll never be early 00's but I'm happy with all the changes they've made in the last couple years overall.
