quick glance/ count

out of the 84 eligible officially released songs that came out before Big Whiskey, only 7 songs of the 84 had a #1 answer that were in the year 2008 or after

think its pretty telling of the last 15+ years the band has not been able to produce an Ants or a Nancies that becomes on par with a more recent lineup.

I always use 2007 as a measuring point year for when DMB IMO sounded like DMB before Tim Reynolds/ Wall of Sound/ alien noises became more apparent in 2008
