Now, AFTW certainly has its setbacks to being a great album. I really do enjoy Sweet, but man, Mercy > Gaucho > Sweet > The Riff (first 1:30) basically puts me to sleep when played in succession. I think if the tracks had been ordered differently on the album, then people might have been more receptive. They basically bookended those four with five really, really good songs. I would go so far as to say Broken Things and Snow Outside are two of the best songs that Dave has ever written, certainly post-Big 3. For me, the fact that those two songs are even on the album put it ahead of BW.
