This song also feels a lot more full band than just something Dave cooked up and they are adding some layers over it, will be cool with a better outro

Yeah, the biggest thing I like about this song vocally is that he isn't purposely scooping and sliding into notes, I prefer being right on the note and being accurate. What he does at the beginning of WATM is intentional but I find it a bit distracting and unnecessary, love WATM though.
