None of this is a surprise. As time wore on it is clear that the rest of the band was working hard and playing well while Boyd just got more and more out of tune as the years went on. I was listening to an early/mid 2000s version of Pig earlier today and Boyd sounded horrendous on it, even though it was a "signature Boyd part."

That said, I'm pleasantly surprised to see how honest Dave was about Boyd in the interview. I thought for sure we'd never get a concrete or direct answer about BT from any member of the band.
