IOY was recorded in 2006. Adding on to the start in a new studio and new setup and trying to get the two to flow perfectly is impossible. If they had done that you’d just say “why the heck does the start sound so screwed up when it goes into the first verse?” At least this way it’s expected. It’s not easy to just work on top of old studio work like you think it is.

So it's easier to rip live YT audio and slap it onto the beginning of 12 year old studio work and try to mix the levels correctly? Agree to disagree. 'We did it while the other producers were out to lunch.' That's lazy. That's Mark Batson American Baby violin plucking loop lazy.
With all the talent and tools they have in the studio, I think they could've done a fade intro like they wanted to, and left the screaming fan to the live show.
