it’s not really a choke if Miami throws out a defense you haven’t seen all year. this game had one of the better zones i’ve seen in the nba. not easy to find an answer in one half. and not Stevens’ fault for “switching up the game plan”, there’s really only one way to attack a zone
the team was poor at helping on the weak side pick and roll defense, that’s on the players not the coach.
i don’t think you can blame him a ton here in game 2. maybe in game 1 when they kept attacking Adebayo without trying to get a switch
to fault him for not closing out the defending champs with best coach in the league quickly enough is just wrong tbh
he’s not perfect but he’s great. look who he’s up against, it’s not like he’s blowing leads to the the Cleveland Browns
