Frattin must've made a mean joke about Vampire Diaries or something to get Myers all riled up like that.

But good on Ty for finally showing that he has somewhat of a pair. :thumbsup

Hate that they got scored on late and then lose in OT but this is lovely.

Last year was much more fun where there weren't any expectations for the jackets. They look like an extremely mediocre hockey team. At least Ryan Murray looks like the real deal, maybe next year they'll be good??? probably not.

After playing their best game of the season in handling the Bruins in fine fashion on Saturday, they have laid 2 duds the last 2 games. At least Poulin played well last night and is proving he handle more than the occasional spot start and can maybe start more often.

We seem to have trouble with the Canes. Not sure why.

Really, really, really wish the Oilers drafted him instead of Yak.

I think a lot of us were saying that at the time. With Schultz they could have tried to groom them together and still have a crap ton of talent up front.

A guy who could probably be a good coach but that franchise is a joke. Atlanta did the same thing to coaches. I'm guessing Noel is the next to go.

Yeah, Tallon has to realize the piece of shit team he's put together there, no?

Not so sure about Noel, although it wouldn't surprise me to see him go. Ownership and mgmt there is a very loyal group to one another from what I hear/read.

I'm all for loyalty but three years and no playoffs in a weak division the last two years. Now they are 2nd to last in the West. Eight points out isn't that far but some of those teams ahead of them are good.

edit:Also back to FLA, as the cap continues to grow, FLA will be even harder pressed to keep up. Actually same goes for Winnipeg too.

‏@wyshynski Money quote from Tallon: "We want people that want to be Panthers, and if they don’t want to be we’ll accommodate them.”

‏@wyshynski Tallon: "If the players don't respond to this, they won't be Panthers for very long."

Think he'll have a line up 30 deep at his office? "Uh, Dave...I don't want to be here"

LOL. If I was a player I'd say "I want to be in South Florida just not with this team you've put together."

Top 5 NHL jersey sales in order for the month of October:

1) Patrick Kane
2) Jonathan Toews
3) Sidney Crosby
4) Pavel Datsyuk
5) Tim Thomas

TMoore4075 11-08-2013 07:43 AM

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

Haha Tim Thomas. He's played what 2 games?

@JoshRimerHockey: With Dineen firing that makes it 26 head coaching changes in last 3 seasons.

Amazing. And some teams haven't fired anyone in those years so that means some teams have fired multiple coaches in that time frame....

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

They could always re-sign Jon Sim.

Seriously though, get the team out of South Florida. The whole thing is just sad at this point. No one wants to play there, no one wants to watch them play there. It's just sad.

EDIT: Also agree that Noel is on a short lease. Patrick Roy too if they keep up these losing ways.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

Another good one from Bucci, expounding on the "morality" of hockey: http://espn.go.com/nhl/notebook/_/pa...play-right-way

My thoughts also fall directly in line as it relates to youth hockey. No PP units, no PK units. Everyone spends at least some time playing a different position. Everyone plays. If my team is down by one with 30 seconds left, my next line goes out, even if that line has the greenest player on the team. At that level, the focus needs to be more on building well-rounded players and fostering love and passion for the game, rather than the rabid hunger for winning that sometimes become more detrimental than helpful. Yes, winning is fun, but teaching guys passion and love for the game, and how to play in all situations, will lead to winning at younger levels. I've had more than a couple parents disagree with me, but I've never had a kid quit on me, and they all went on to continue playing and love the game.

Sorry, done now. :lol

I wonder if the Thomas thing is from fans or non-NHL fans making a political statement in agreement with TT's views.

It's done, for prospects. Thought is that it's a cap move for something bigger.
