Top 10? I bet almost every team in the league would want them, especially Lucic. Guy is a game changer when he's on

:lol I've heard Roy is super bitchy about the team taking bad penalties. Holds them way accountable. Which is surprising to me, considering well, you know... he's Patrick Roy. The Bruce crusher.

I would take Looch on my team in a heartbeat.

Love both players haha.

What has Lucic done really that makes him a piece of shit? Running Miller? Maybe Miller should played the puck better or not have came out at all. I have never seen a problem in how that went down

Oh I would love to have Luccic on my team. Not Marchand though I really don't think I could root for that rodent.

Miller obviously the most famous incident. Just watching him game to game, I don't have specific examples right now. Maybe I will after watching him play tomorrow.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

The thing is, Lucic has to be a "piece of shit". The instant he stops being a "piece of shit", he's not nearly as effective. Playing with that edge is what makes him valuable. Yes, he's got decent offensive skills, but it's only when you combine it with that attitude that you get the results. And those results don't always appear on the scoresheet.

Case in point: Last night. Landeskog is not a pussy, he has proven already that he will fight. Yet he wouldn't go with Looch. Why? because he knew he'd get his ass handed to him and probably pump up the Boston crowd (who all love the guy) in the process. Now, admittedly this isn't the perfect example as Lucic ended up getting 8 more minutes in penalties than Landy, but the point is there: He gets into people's heads even before the game starts. He makes people think, he gets them off his game. I mean, they mentioned last night that he's been in something like 55 fights over his career, and you know what? He's probably won 50 of them. And people know that.

If he's just a big guy who pots a goal every now and again, he's instantly less effective and valuable to his team.

Yeah, he's a big time piece of shit, but certainly a valuable one.

Well said as usual Matty. He's one of those guys you love if he's wearing your teams sweater and hate if you're anyone else :lol

HallowBillies7 10-11-2013 01:35 PM

I just don't see that being really a piece of shit, Marchand I can understand in that category. The way Lucic plays is exactly what the Bruins and the fans love. Once in a while he lets his emotions get the better of him and he'll get a penalty for it but he's not out there doing Marchand like stuff to players, or throwing dirty hits every chance he gets.

Here's the thing about the Rangers:

1. It's a complete overhaul for them playing for AV vs Torts. AV wants to open it up, and essentially play run and gun hockey. It takes teams usually around 10 games to get their systems in place.

2. They have been on the road for three weeks. That is brutal. It has to have an effect you would think. I know it would get to me.

3. The West is an all around better conference than the East right now. There is no drop off in the level of competition it seems. The Rangers were walking into a buzzsaw in San Jose the other night after playing the Kings the night before.

All in all, don't panic yet. The Rangers just need to tread water for the duration of this road trip while getting acquainted with AV's style of play.

They honestly look to me like one of the softest teams I have ever seen. They've lost so much toughness and heart over the past 2 seasons. Part of this absolutley falls on Glen Sather.

Letting Prust go hurt them badly. I didn't think it would have such a negative effect, but look at Montreal and the Rangers since Prust left.

Dumbass penalty by Rinaldo led to a Yotes score to take the lead with about 19 seconds left in the 2nd god damn

Lucic is what Bickell should be. Bickell is Lucic if Lucic ever stopped playing with an edge.

By the way, incredible Hawks game tonight. Couple rows off the ice are actually awful seats. Get me back up in the 300 level.

Also, Tavares has slowly climbed the ladder to my favorite non-Blackhawk players. http://www.csnchicago.com/sites/csnc...iles/tooth.gif

Guy lost multiple teeth tonight, didn't miss a shift. I watched him more than any other player on the ice, including all the Hawk players. Guy is what every dad should tell their kid to model their game after. Not Kane, not Ovie, not Sid...Tavares/Toews. Watching those two square off was a fuckin treat.

The season ticket seats that my friend has is on the boards behind the goalie, I'm sure I've showed pictures at some point. They are great for them the play is down in that zone but you can't see shit when it's on the other side. It's not like you get anything for being up on the boards, and PLEASE DO NOT BANG ON THE BOARDS.

Edit: There are from her seats that I was at for the home opener. She also has a set about 6 rows back that are a little better for viewing reasons.

I've sat down by the glass a few times in San Jose, but I much preferred the seats in 201, dead center, we had as season tix for a few years. Only thing the really close seats do is give you a better feel for how big and fast the players are.

That's what happens when your goal differential is 60% better than anyone else, and most of your goals have been even-strength.
