Man, Subban had a chance to bury that puck late in the third and he blew it.

3 shots for the Oilers and they lead 1-0 after 1. Talbot is the only reason the Ducks don't have a half dozen goals.

Yeah, Talbot and McDavid are putting on a show right now.

Draisaitl is a tad dirty but he's got nothing on most of the cheating ducks.

Wow, Maroon comes up big with the redirect to double Edmonton's lead almost halfway through the game!

I just got such a chubby from Sekeras making that play without a stick, and then Klefbom breaking up that 2 on 1. #defense

I bet Nurse's own zone spinorama attempt softened that right up...

If this score hold up and Edmonton wins this will be a great day for me! Nashville gets beat down and the Ducks will be down 2 games to none going into Edmonton.

Also hope the Rangers and Caps can even up their series' tomorrow so this weekend of hockey will be stellar for me, even if my Hawks are out and just traded away Darling!

Agreed, Talbot and McDavid were amazing tonight. Great game to watch and now the Ducks have dropped both home games. Sweep anyone?

I can safely go to bed soon (it is 1:30am here) with a smile on my face because both teams I wanted to win pulled it off!!!!! :multi

Luckily I finished up before that.

Oilers don't make the playoffs in 11 years, and now they look like they could win the Cup in their first year back :lol

Would be an amazing story. The McDavid/Gretzky hot takes would be epic.

Mike Mulbury with tasty hot takes about PK Subban's pregame antics? Not shocked. He'll do anything to stay relevant.

Amazing that this Rangers/Senators series is flying so far under the radar. No defending champs, no top seeded team that needs to win soon, no Cinderella story like Nashville and no upstart Oilers to cheer for against the ducks. Regardless, this is a great series and whoever wins it is going to give Pittsburgh or Washington a headache!

*Shocked* pens/caps got the primetime game, again

Seriously, that was pathetic. Worse, that power play in OT was absolutely atrocious, they dicked with the puck far too much when they were in the O zone rather than putting pucks on net and hoping to collect some rebounds.

Did I say that? Because I don't recall me ever saying that.

It doesn't take someone who doesn't have a Napoleon complex about who the top teams in the league are to see that PIT/WAS is the premier series and gonna get the primetime game on a Saturday.

Not overly happy to be honest, they kind of got screwed getting only a 3rd round pick in that trade. He is a damn good goalie and deserves his payday - even if I was pretty sure he would not be back in Chicago next year because he has earned a starting role. Part of me (at times) thinks he is a better all around goalie, less prone to brain farts than Crawford but Crawford is pretty underrated and they are paying him next to nothing for a #1 goalie with 2 rings to his name, not to mention a Jennings, a President's trophy and being the alternate goalie in 2010 if Niemi or Huet went down.

Well, couple thoughts -

1) I'm a little curious how Bowman is planning to create space. I honestly thought it was going to be Crawford. Panarin's contract + bonuses put him at about a $9m cap hit next year. They need to unload salary somewhere, and just Kruger won't be enough.

2) I think a 3rd rounder is a great haul for him. He's an UFA, so they just traded his negotiating rights. Pretty good to get a 3rd round pick for the negotiating rights of a backup goalie.

So, I'm conflicted. Crawford is obviously good enough to win a Cup as he's proven multiple times, but I'm just not sure where the cap space will come from...
