Was literally just reading NHL.com's story about this. I guess it's not too surprising since Lamerello stepped down as GM but still. It almost feels like he's ready to be distanced from the Devils which is weird because there was such a good thing there. It didn't end on neccesarily the best terms but it never felt like things were on bad terms either, but after reading this story and remembering back to his press conference earlier this year when he joined the Blues, he seems like he doesn't want anything to do with New Jersey

it always felt to me like there was some bad blood there with the way he left.
like he was forced out in favor of Schneider

kind of similar to the favre rodgers situation.
unfortunately for the devils, schneider isn't rodgers yet.
