Bruins have two games in hand. That might come back and bite the Flyers. Not that it's their fault they've played more games, just the reality.

Sounds like Ovechkin might miss a bit more time.

Great.

@CraigCustance
Bruins announce 1-year contract extension for Torey Krug worth $3.4 million & 2-year extension for Reilly Smith w/cap hit of $3.425 million.

Surprised the guys would sign these but good on them for helping out the team.

Schlemko channels his inner Forsberg: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dC-muDM7gTs

Who knew he had it in him?

I love how Rask just gets up and skates off. Admits defeat, takes it like a man :lol

It's just absolutely astounding the dropoff that's happened in the last two weeks. Though, I will say, last night they looked like the Preds have all year. Isles just won the game. I'm hoping last night motivates these guys and then they get this slump out of the way.

Poor Mac. Breaks his nose and gets benched in one game, breaks his foot the next. The end to a frustrating sophomore season.

Frustrating indeed. However I think good things are still coming for the Avalanche. I guess you could chalk this up to a bit of sophomore slump for the whole team (yes I know they aren't "sophomores" technically but I mean as a team who did so well last year, the expectations being so high this year, sophomore slump seems apt). Seems like Varly has been back to his high level as of late. Assuming he maintains health next year there's still a lot to look forward to

Starting to get the playoff excitement, even with 20 games to go. Even after this weekend, Wings will STILL have 3 games in hand on TBL. Need a Stars win tomorrow and two Wings wins.

You and I think a lot. I'm extremely disappointed, but it was definitely a learning season. Their play during this last half of the season has been more encouraging. As a team they're returning to form, and the players individually are picking things up.

If they are able to unload ROR for a solid top d-man during the offseason, it'll go a long way to addressing issues.

The core is still super solid. They've done a fantastic job of setting in place all the right foundational pieces.

I'm not totally shocked by the Avs. They had rebounded so fast last year (from the previous year) that there had to be a drop-off. Just part of the learning process.

Agreed. The first-round exit, coupled with this season, has shown them what it's like to lose. They will grow from it.

So Marchand tied it with 15 seconds left in regulation and then won it a few minutes later in OT. Total choke job, Philly. Nice win, B's as we need the points.
