3.5-4 should get this done. He wanted north of $6mil?? Hahahaha So he really was wanting Toews money. Again, Toews scored I think I saw almost 200 points in 3 seasons and Johansen hasn't even hit 100 for his career but yeah, you should get that....

i'll never blame an athlete for trying to get paid, ever, but RyJo was way overshooting

and now it's become a big mess

he did indeed, admittedly only for 2 years but still.
trust me, under the old management Howson probably would have panicked and given it to him.
i love John Davidson, I don't know how CBJ got him but he is exactly what they needed.

i don't blame him for trying to get as much as possible either but he shouldn't have let this carry into camp.

I'm with you, you get try to get paid but you need to be in reality. You always go a bit higher, knowing you'll probably be lower than that a little. That means you expect in the mid 5's maybe and that wasn't gonna happen....

....wasn't gonna happen unless you had dumb management like in the past. Both sides need to look out for themselves. A good agent has to know who he's working with, and if he can get them to break and give big money. i'm sure people know if JD is that guy or not.

One pre-season game in and Wings lose two to injury...here we go again. Thankfully neither will be out long and it's only pre-season. Datsyuk thinks about a week but nothing confirmed yet and Helm has broken nose but they didn't say how long for him but again pre-season...who cares if he plays.

Looks like a Washington take on the Canucks ones from last year. I'm not a fan either.

Really like it. I think I'd prefer it more if they dropped the stripes on the shoulders, but it's growing on me more and more.

Yeah, exactly. Once again the Caps go with an extremely busy jersey. Would look better without all the excessive stripes

Damn. Don't even have to actually play any hockey for them to earn one of these

Re: The NHL Thread

I think my biggest issue is why, if they wanted to celebrate the team's heritage, did they give a 40 year old team a 100 year old looking jersey? Doesn't feel like "Capitals" at all. Screams 1920's. Caps are from the 70's. Seems they missed the mark big time in that regard.

It looks so old, just doesn't make sense. Should have gone back to the Bondra days with the blue and gold. :)

Re: The NHL Thread

Definitely try to acquire a goalie. With them it's tough because you want to find a good goalie who's on a good team. With stats like wins and SO's counting for goalies, it doesn't do much good to have a good goalie on a bad team. You may have to be willing to part with a solid roster player like Thornton to get a good goalie, though.

Other than that, you've got a good roster. Hopefully the Avs do you proud!

Goddamnit. I just realized that tomorrow is the beginning of Rosh Hashana (Jewish New Year). I agree with Lockman21 that we should move it forward a few hours if possible. But i need to know quickly. Is there a problem with maybe 3pacific\6eastern?

I'm good with that. I'll be at work still. Would much rather do it while I'm at work than at home with the fam. :D
