There is no reason to create that much burden for the fans and stadium workers. Plus it's hurts the rest of the series. I mean 6 periods of hockey isn't enough? Plus it ties the regular season shootouts into the playoffs.

After the 2nd OT yes.:)

There are two legit hockey highlights involving shootouts. Peter Forsberg winning gold for Sweden and beating Canada and TJ Oshie going to town. All-time hockey moments. I've been to a 4 OT game, I just wanted to go home.

We did this as youngsters for indoor soccer. Basically, take a player off every 2 minutes until it’s goalie v goalie. Was hilarious at best.

ya there is. the score was still tied. thats a pretty good reason to play more overtime periods.



the great thing about overtime in hockey playoffs is there is no gimmick. there's no short field. there's no coin toss deciding things. no changes to the rules like adding a runner on 2nd who didn't earn his way on base. its the same game as the first 3 periods, and they play until someone beats the other team.

its 2022. if you don't know how to watch multiple games at one time by now, then idk what to tell you. you didn't have to watch only the rangers/pens game.
