Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
The Kovy deals can't happen anymore. So if Richards being 31 signed a 13 year deal for 80mil a year ago his cap number would just the average which is $6.1mil even if the last 4 years paid him a total $2.5mil. Now it's the amount of money he makes until he's 40 becomes the average. So instead of 80mil over 13 they do 77.5 mil over 9 years. Now all of a sudden his cap number is about $8.6mil. A little different.

Hawks trade Campbell and Hjalmarrson, sign Sopel and Richards.
Sharp-Richards-Hossa (foaming at the mouth) (it also won't happen) |

The Wolves were the farm team for Atlanta and the Cafucks feeder was the Manitoba Moose. I guess Winnipeg gets convenience and Vancouver gets fucked. Awesome.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

According to my watch its was under 30 seconds I tried and got shut-out... and now I'm 1446 of 8000 on the waiting list, guess I can wait a few more years |

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
I heard there is a BS rumor that Crosby's career is finished. Gimme a break. He'll be back next season I expect.
But think about this hypothetically, and I stress the hypothetical part: what will that do to both Pittsburgh and the NHL itself. And would you consider him a HOFer? |

rumour around Winnipeg is its going to be: Manitoba Polar Bears.. with powder blue as the jerseys colour.. not sure about that one |
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
The Winnipeg Moose would be awesome! We need another pro sports team that doesn't end in "s"
|
Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread
Crosby does not warrant hall of fame status yet. He is sure on the way path but if his career is over as you said a rumor stated it will go down as one of the biggest "what if" careers

As for Pitt. they'd be alright. It would be a huge blow but they've got a good team without him. Not as good obviously but still pretty good and would have $9mil to spend. The NHL in terms of marketing would take a hit. I still think the league as a whole would be great, as I think many people in here would too, but the NHL feels the need for a player like that to market and have a "rivalry" between him and Ovie. So that's where it would hurt the NHL. That said I don't believe that rumor at all because it was reported the other day he was cleared for workouts. |
