Right there with you. I get why fans want them there, why the Olympics want them there and why the players want to go but the NHL's #1 concern is their product on many different levels and the Olympics doesn't help them in anyway. I get why fans are upset at the NHL but if you were Bettman, Daly or an owner you'd be on their side. The NHL had a few guys get hurt 3 years ago and this year the IOC wouldn't cover the travel and insurance.

Would anyone be interested in some sort of meet up before and at a game this season? No particular teams or venue in mind but it would be very cool to meet many of you - perhaps somewhere with a hockey themed sports bar if we cannot find a game we can all afford tix to. Years ago we had a small DMB board (One Sweet World) and we planned a get together and it went amazing - about 20 of us flew to VA for a show and a fun weekend. Turned out we all had such a good time we started trying to swing another get together each year and most of us still stay in regular contact. I don't do Zima but I'd happily suck down some beers and whiskey with you all!

I just got to Guadalajara for a vacation. Left this morning. Totally conincidental.

The restaurant I work at got the catering gig for the cops for this event, so that's kind of a twisted positive spin on it.

My heart breaks for my city. Fuck the alt right. Skinny jeans wearing tiki torch wielding over privileged fucks. Makes me sick they're pulling this shit in my city.

Came to check on barbs. Glad you're ok. I agree with you. It's upsetting to say the least. I've only been down there for the DMB shows but have had a blast each time and think the place and people are great.
