Re: ** Duluth, GA 2012 **

Ok, so the only way I can go this tour is if I can get Pit tickets at face value... (loooong back story, it is what it is). So, I've never tried for Pit tickets before because I didn't think I would like it. But having gotten a free upgrade N1 WPB thanks to VW, I realize now that it's the only way to go. And apparently the only way my husband will now agree to go. Anyway... I am not a WH member (nor do I plan to be)... how hard is it going to be to get pit tickets for ATL? I see the tix go on sale 10/19 or 10/26 depending on dates. Does that mean I pretty much need to be online at 12:01am 10/19?

Re: ** Duluth, GA 2012 **

It's a really nice venue. It has hosted many big names and I would guess they would go with general admission floor.

Much smaller than Philips by about 6K.

I would liken the size difference to the same between Lakewood and Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre.

Much better than Phillips for a concert.... can't wait. I'm going to have to figure out how to swing a tuesday though.

Re: ** Duluth, GA 2012 **

Getting out after a show is the worst part about Gwinnett in my opinion. The parking itself is nice because (I believe) it's free and there are plenty of spaces in the lots and deck, but leaving the show can take a LONG time for whatever reason. Both of the shows I've seen there were good-sized crowds (Elton John and Foo Fighters), and I imagine this show will be no different.

But the venue is in a nice part of town, is relatively easy to access from the highway, and has great acoustics (at least from the floor, I've not sat in the bowl before). This show will be exactly 10 years to the date after my first DMB show, and I live in Metro Atlanta, so I can't imagine not going.

Smaller, more intimate than Philips. Better acoustics. Nicer part of town, but traffic getting out is tough. Agree with all of the posts above. Really looking forward to it.

Went to Atlanta in fall 2010. Got to meet and hang out with Justin aka BeaufordBuddy. Great times. Planned to go this year as well. Unfortunately being so close to Christmas and just married into a large family money will just be too tight. Cant wait for next summer.

Oh snap, you're right; 10 years since 12/11/02 at Philips. That was my 2nd show!

I didn't see this venue coming. Only times I've been there were an Incubus concert way back in like '04ish, and then my future brother-in-law's high school graduation about 4 years ago :lol

But since I'm in Athens I do like that it's a significantly shorter drive for me than Atlanta!

Kinda pissed that this would end up in the middle of finals week, but lucky for me, I have no finals the day of nor the day after. Will suck however, that most people I know will probably not be able to make it due to exams. It's also nearly a 4 hour drive which is kinda lame as well :lol

decisions, decisions...

Gonna try for pit tickets, doubt I'll get them without being a WH member or having a citi card. But hopefully someone on here can help me out if I can't get any. Worked at Phillips 2010.

Just so everyone knows: there is NO "check the box" option for WH tickets, per some info from the Fall tour thread. Currently on the fence, debating between WH and Citi presale.

As of right now, Gwinnett is the only venue on the band site without an opener named - which do you favor? Jimmy Cliff or The Lumineers?

Sorry I am fairly new to WH. What is the check the box? And is there a pit in the front of the rest of the GA?

I'm not familiar with Jimmy Cliff, but I REALLY hope it is the The Lumineers. They are one of my favorite bands right now.

There is no Pit in the front. The entire floor is GA

Secret tip for parking at this venue; have done it several times. Park at the strip mall across the street (there's a Mexican place, a bank, etc.). Walk over to the venue. After the show, walk through the venue parking lot full of cars going no where, cross the street, get into your car and you're on your way home.

And since the entire floor is GA there will be no problem getting GA Floor when they go on sale for regular onsale

Lumineers play Masquerade 10/19 so probably will announce right after that. They had to move from indoors to outdoors because it sold out so fast. Outdoors is not sold out yet which would explain delayed announcement.

Of course, that is only one theory and we will probably get a completely different opener. But I am hoping for Lumineers.

Praying you're correct. Everyone has always discouraged me from giving my money to the warehouse and with no Citi card i was afraid i'd be SOL. After being on the floor in Phillips 2 years ago, that's the only way I wanna see DMB indoors.

Have never been towed so far. I'll make a run up there in the next week or so to check it out and see if there are any towing signs posted. I think the mexican place is open until at least 11ish, so you'd think you'd be fine parking in front of it.

Benefit of Warehouse GA Floor, if you want to be as close as possible, there may be early entrance for Warehouse tickets.

I live in Dunwoody (15 miles away) and work downtown, so just booked the Holiday Inn Gwinnett Place as it's less than a 1/4 mile walk to the venue (closer than some of the parking spaces). Don't want to deal with driving home after the show. Wife and I carpool so we'll easily get to the venue after work in the Peach Lane (I guess carpooling doesn't even help anymore). And then just head into town in the morning.

Thanks man - let us know. It was a pain leaving there for a college hoops game last year. I would definitely try an alternative.

Have you ever tried parking at the north end near Sugarloaf? - it looks like there's an escape route. I guess the problem there is the parking attendants not letting you go there if you arrive early.

Doing reserved 1 for all shows.

The last thing I want is to end up on the floor and have people pushing through because "bro, my friend is right up there - see that dude in the DMB shirt? That's my friend". Yeah, I'm good on all that.

Do Warehouse members still get on the floor earlier? If so, then I might do GA. Still might just try for some nice seats though.

My wife will be 2 weeks away from her delivery date for the show, so seats are the only option for us. Just requested them. I will also be trying for some through ticketmaster, so I will most likely end up with an extra pair to sell for anyone interested.

Agreed. Maybe it's me getting older, but I just don't feel like dealing with people like that. If there was a smaller "pit" in a sense, where I could park myself against the back rail but still be close, then I'd consider it. Fighting the entire floor on the other hand, not an option.

Stubhub is really just a bulletin board, like eBay, where anyone can list any tickets (no need to prove you really have them) for any amount. So it's lots of speculators now who are confident they'll have tickets later and would like to "presale" them now before they even have them...get paid now and then buy the tickets later

BNole 10-04-2012 08:17 AM

Re: ** Duluth, GA 2012 **

Reserved 1 for me. Have been in the pit for a few shows, and while being up there is cool...I hated being pushed and it always being packed by everyone passing wristbands to their friends. Plus, you have somewhere to rest your legs during the pre-concert/opener, and you can go to the restroom and not loose your spot.

Gwinnett has season ticket holders just like any other venue so those people already bought their tickets and have them for sale.

Requested 2 GA floor tickets.

Looking forward to this and glad they're coming through again. Didn't have a great time at the Lakewood show this year as I was stuck in the lawn and had a hard time getting away from annoying people despite moving several times. Was a pretty weak setlist too. I'm stoked to see more of the AFTW songs live, so I know this will be a blast!

Would have preferred Phillps though since I live and work in the city, can can walk to Phillips from my office.

The general consensus is yes, but I haven't seen anything definitive. Plus seat confirmations won't be out for a while after requests are filled. The only info that we'll have is what price level we were confirmed for, no section info.

If there's early entry for Warehouse, try and score some Warehouse GAs on these boards or craigslist (assuming you're not a member). In this case, try and get there early and be at the front of the WH line. This will put you in the first 10 rows, guaranteed. If you get your tickets through WH and they don't do early admission for WH, then you have just as good a shot as everyone else. You'll wanna check back here closer to showtime to see when people are planning on getting in line, but I would say 12 or 1 will get you pretty damn close. However, if they DO do WH early admission and you don't have a WH ticket, you'll still want to line up around this time, but probably will be around row 10 or further; which is still really fucking close.

The first time I got up front was Philips Arena 2010 and I took the day off work and got to the venue at around 10 am and was the 10th person there! You might not have to get there that early but early is the key to getting railed!

I'm gonna try, but I can't leave work too early. I'll make my way up there somehow though

Alright I appreciate it a lot. One more question: If I get public tickets but join the WH before the concert will I be able to get early access if that is available?

No, a Warehouse ticket is required for early access, if available.

Good question! Summer WH pit tickets were all will-call, and I think they had a diffferent design (vs. public). Once we picked up our tickets we went to a tent where they would give us a wristband for early entry. They did have fast track lines for public tickets; I think it was $5, and they got in after WH but before the general tickets. Maybe contact WH?

No way would I try and take someone's spot on the rail from them.

Clear difference, and they will not let you in with the WH line unless you have a WH ticket.

If I join the WH today and request tickets, is it likely that I will get Floor seats?

Possible. Likely? Probably not. But WH has always been good to me. It's definitely worth the $35 a year

It's only unlikely because of the sheer number of people who will be requesting floors. Remember, seniority is only a factor when it comes to seating.

I read this and thought he wants a strong show of Ants at the rail, not taking someone else's spot.

Yea I know but they have limited numbers of floor seats reserved for WH

Why do you think that? Just curious. Trying to get up the courage to order through WH.

1) there will be thousands of Floor tickets; Warehouse will get a bunch of them

2) Atlanta will be the least requested show

If you want Floor, put in for it on Warehouse. Also try for them on CITI presale as soon as it starts. I doubt anyone would strike out on both these.

dmbolp 10-05-2012 03:21 PM

Re: ** Duluth, GA 2012 **

3) for the Lakewood summer show there were pit tickets available during the CITI Presale for several days, and then several pit ticket drops leading up to the show

I put in for $85 reserved on my account as well as my girlfriends. I'm considering canceling the request on my gf account cause I don't want duplicates especially if they could be tough to get rid of

I'm nail biting for these confirmations. Put in for Reserved 1 and they'll probably give me Reserved 17. I'll be in the rafters sharing popcorn with Sting.

I was in the rafters for C'ville N2 2010. Literally the very last row. It was still awesome!

I was in the rafters for my first ever DMB show. I don't remember the view, probably because the band looked like ants to me, but I do remember the setlist kicked ass, and it was the only time I've ever seen Roi in concert (2003).

I still have no idea. I think I want seats, but I'd rather have someone I know sitting with me, and of now, I'm not sure I'll be going with anyone (seeing as boro is 4 hours and away and it will be in the middle of finals week). Have some friends from UGA possibly going, but I'm not sure.
