Spinoff to the unpopular DMB opinions thread. Couldn't find anything in the search. Surprised this wasn't made already. The one that made me think of this thread, is that I don't Weezer is that great of a band.

Radiohead is a little sloppy live. Especially vocals

I use to love Coldplay, but their anthem rock direction is trash

I dont think Nirvana is trash, they have some good songs, but I do think theyre severely overrated just because they were the first popular grunge band. I think that style of music is pretty crappy overall.

They are all fine, I saw GnR last year on their tour. But in regards to owning any of their music? No interest

I dont know how someone wouldnt want to own Beatles or Zeppelin music. But to each their own I guess.

Ignoring that stuff is ignoring alot of the best music ever written.

I can kind of get with that train of thought. I certainly like a lot of bands before 1989 but virtually all of my favorite albums are post birth. Just can't make the same connections to past stuff

Movies makes sense to an extent because the picture quality is much worse than you were raised on and themes might not translate. But regardless theres some that stand out as much watch.

Music doesnt really have those boundaries.

They arent going anywhere. Their music is good, and theyre actually talented. Im not a big fan nor have I ever listened to an album of theirs front to back, but I get why theyre popular. At least they deserve it more than some disney star turned pop music star.

My favorite stuff is all after I was born as well. But that doesnt make me uninterested in past music ore appreciate it any less.

oo, I dont know. Great music can be universal and timeless. Same with film.

Limp Bizkit is unnecessarily bashed

AC/DC is awful, generic rock

Grateful Dead is boring save for American Beauty and a few other songs.

Also to piggyback on the old music/movies convo those can be timeless. To not try them because they are old is a mistake.

I'm aware the music is there and growing up my mom was/is a huge fan of the artist TLP listed. So i know the songs and the people, just me personally I don't have any interest in listening to it now. But i would say i do not like the Grateful Dead..at all.

I do have a good amount of Aerosmith on my ipod though lol

Honestly for me it took until I heard about Dead & Co for me to really dig deep into their catalog.

There are gems the deeper you go. Listening to their stuff is kind of a journey. Most of the time I cant pluck individual songs out and listen to them, I just put on a show and let it play.

Right now Im enjoying Dead & Co shows more than GD ones, but it fluctuates. Europe 72 is just outstanding if youre interested in digging a little deeper, thats probably the best place to start.
