Tour opener and shockingly it replaces Hartford!

Hopefully it will be like the 2010 tour openers

As a CT resident I don't like this move to Mohegan. I hate indoor summer shows and the meadows was always a sloppy fun time

Makes sense financially. Attendance numbers for Hartford have been dropping steadily. Xfinity capacity is 30k (7.5 pavilion). Last year they sold around 15k tickets. Two nights at Mohegan not only makes it a destination venue, but with 10k capacity and no low lawn ticket price they probably sell out both nights and walk away with more cash. Some will be upset with the smashing of traditions (It's a long walk from Erotic Zone to Uncasville), but the crowd is older now. Perhaps we'll have some band member sightings at the blackjack tables.

This absolutely blows.

But I completely understand the move to Mohegan.

It when traditions are broken. Hartford started sinking when Mansfield came into play a few years ago. Without Mansfield I feel like hartford could've gotten 2 nights again

I'm booked at the Hampton Inn Norwich for this show. Not sure if I'll be able to swing it but at the time I booked, well over a month ago, it seemed like one of the nicer hotels without having to break the bank. Mohegan on property hotel rooms are crazy priced.

I went to Phish in July and we stayed the Rodeway Inn in Waterford. It was a fine, but the uber after the show was $100.

Super bummed about this switch from the meadows to indoor at the casino and the fact that it has become weekday shows.

I'm okay with this as long as we actually get some tix...

Any idea what pit will be like at this venue?

Re: Official Mohegan Sun Thread

I am shocked they actually made this move but I get it. I still liked to go back to my 16 year old days at tailgates at the Meadows but I also like nice cold beer pours from a bar, good food, and a little blackjack before walking in to see my favorite band. All is not lost.

Do we know if they are doing seats on the floor or GA?

Re: Official Mohegan Sun Thread

I don't care for casinos at all, but some of them have nice venues for concerts. I've heard nothing but good things about Mohegan Sun for shows. Looking to get in quick and get away from the place as quickly as possible. This is what we did for the Last Show at the MGM National Harbor and it was great.

Curious as if both these will sell out..

Very bummed no Hartford show, mostly because this is indoors. DMB is an outside band for me if that makes any sense. Completely understand the logic, but still. I'll probably catch Mansfield either instead or in addition to these.

My exact initial thought. Hopefully they try to do something interesting with the first two shows instead of a rotation of what they already would have played previously in 2020.

I would assume no repeats (except potential new songs) so it will be fine.

Most likely with the capacity of 12000. Weekday show or not these will be a hard ticket to get especially when the casino holds a percentage for their members

Bridgeport just opened a 15k amphitheater I thought for sure DMB would play there over Mohegan. Just being outside in the summer for a show feels so much better

Can't wait. Hope to make both nights. Booked rooms a month ago. Still crazy high!

It's actually state of the art venue. Hartford was no pretty place to hang. I'm just bummed you go from a Saturday night outdoor show to a Tuesday indoors.

Yes exactly this. I would definitely take that as an option. Indoors in the summer just doesn't feel right.

Tour opener 😍😍😍 love a more intimate venue even though,I have many great memories from the Meadows!:bounce:multi might buy a WH membership (haven't had one since '10)

Re: Official Mohegan Sun Thread

Bridgeport in the summer, outdoors is not my ideal hang out spot :lol

I'd rather the north end of Hartford
