I’d be surprised if any of those 5 teams win the Cup.
But then again, I’m about to link an article that talks about the Caps winning the Cup. Which I never thought they would. So who knows. Oh, that article. Braden <3 https://www.theplayerstribune.com/en...o-kart-tattoos |

How on god’s green earth has Kenny Albert made it so long in the play by play game? Ugh I’ll either be banging my head on the wall or watching on mute for the next three hours. Great.

So, are we at nine team race in the east now officially? Or does Philly still have a legit chance? Good try last night, by the way

Huge 2 games for CBJ - if they can win both in regulation they turn the tables completely and get there season back on track after all the deadline moves - if they lose both, not a good sign

Re: The NHL Thread: featuring Gritty, the regular season mascot champ.
So this breakaway was blown dead by the linesmen as offsides, resulting in the player not attempting a shot.
https://twitter.com/lakings/status/1...851522049?s=21 Not that it mattered in the particular game because lol Kings, but how does something like this be prevented in the future? A challenge by the coach, resulting in a penalty type shot? The linesmen not blowing down “close calls” on breakaways, allow the shooter to shoot, then let it go to video review? Nothing, because it’s just the name of the game and stuff happens? |

As for this situation you just have to let it go - so many more missed calls that have bigger impact |
Re: The NHL Thread: featuring Gritty, the regular season mascot champ.
Oilers have Draisaitl in the goal scoring title mix, McDavid in the top 3 in points, Nugent-Hopkins with his most career points in a season already, decent record in the last few games, playing with some cohesion and grit, probably going to win a bunch more games on their way to missing the playoffs.
future future grumble grumble. |
Re: The NHL Thread: featuring Gritty, the regular season mascot champ.
Wow, so last night I saw this commercial with Patrick Sharp and Adam Burrish (a 'tribute' of sorts to silly old insurance commercial from the 1980's - https://twitter.com/NHLBlackhawks/st...990593/video/1) and thought it was the worst hockey commercial of the year until I just saw this. Kings fans (hi Sarah) what on earth were they thinking, this was truly dreadful! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SutbRQEuVDo

Tampa - yeah, maybe. This could be their year. But they’ve had a recent history of coming up short regularly. They’ll have to get past that. Toronto - nope. No defense. They’ll get shut down in the playoffs when goals are five times harder to accumulate. Bruins - maybe. Obviously an 18 game point streak is impressive. They also play a hard game. That translates well in the playoffs usually. Of the five teams I’m mentioning, I actually think they’ve got the best shot to go deep. Cal-Gary - lots of inexperience there. I just don’t see it happening.. This is the one I’d like to be wrong about as western Canadian hockey is always welcome in my opinion. Unless it’s Vancouver. San Jose - goalie questions. Karlsson hasn’t been a model of consistency. Plus it’s the sharks, the perrenial bridesmaid. Honestly, the thing about hockey is none of us know or can predict what will happen. It’s such a random game that requires a lot of luck in the right spots to actually have a long run. No computer model or internet analysis can predict that type of stuff. |

Also, the line to get a Bunch of Jerks shirt was awesome :lol. I got a hat and shirt because they are awesome. Too bad the Canes got lit up last night. The Jets looked like a team on fire ready for the playoffs. I was pissed that Carolina didn't call a timeout after the third goal. You give up 3 goals on 8 shots in the first 10 minutes....how do you not call a timeout to calm your team down or make a goalie change? I get maybe you don't want to change goalies since you play Nashville a night later, but at least call the timeout. Anyway, I am not really invested and I had a very nice conversation with a girl from Manitoba last night, so I still had fun! |
