Wouldn't hate it if this happened, honestly.

It seems like it’s the right way to build the best possible long term contender. Finish really awful and get the very top picks. That’s the recipe for a cycle of actual success, it seems.

This is why hockey is the best sport.

I hope it opens and you can see the video.

10 years in youth hockey and my son’s the same age as these kids. I found this extremely touching and similar to things I’ve seen our club and other do.

I kept telling myself, "you're at work, Matt. Don't watch this at work. You're going to cry."

So of course, I did watch it. And I was right.

Flyers acquire Bailey for Leier from Sabres.... cool?

Looks like no WCOH in 2020. I realize it is not the Olympics but that tournament was fun to watch last time so it is kind of a bummer they passed on it though I do really want them to get that new CBA in place prior to 2020, last thing the NHL needs is a strike or lockout.

What’s really sad is that I don’t think anyone will be surprised if the nhl experiences another lockout

Sad to think it will be another missed year of being able to watch Ovechkin

Fuck the NHL, just let them fucking play in that shit

Agreed, 100%!

Yotes (particularly Darcy Kuemper) played great tonight and so did their D. I know they lost in OT to the Pens but even getting a point against a damn good team was solid for them. That is a team that is going to be a contender in a dew years if they keep this up and the younger guys keep playing at the same level or get better.

Av's can really turn up the heat when they are playing well. I know they have been struggling lately but that is a damn good team and Rantanen is turning into one of the most dynamic players in the league. If you lost to the Sen's or Hawks in that fashion I would be concerned but the Av's - not so much, they were bound to break out of their mini slump.

In other news, I hope Rask is OK - I hate the B's but that looked bad (not dirty because the D man checked Chytil right into Rask after he scored) and now the guys is in concussion protocol.

Wow, toronto blew that call on Malkin's goal that got called back. He did not kick that, his momentum had the puck hit his skate and bounce past Fleury but their was no distinct kicking motion at all IMO. What BS.

Re: The NHL Thread: featuring Gritty, the regular season mascot champ.

Hawks finally win again - guess it helped that Kane and Toews combined for 5 goals and 5 assists. Still despite the Caps getting zero offense from their forewords I was not even comfortable with the lead until Toews finished the hattty. Wish the Hawks played more games against Metro opponents, they'd have a better record! :lol

Wings play well again and lose again. Come on top 5 pick....preferably #1 or #2.

The Oil placed Spooner on waivers today. The net result for Eberle is now 0. Awesome job, Pete.

"Let's recap.
June 22, 2017: Jordan Eberle for Ryan Strome.
Nov. 16, 2018: Ryan Strome for Ryan Spooner.
Jan. 21, 2019: Ryan Spooner on waivers. Jordan Eberle and Ryan Strome not on waivers."

So Jordan Eberble for literally nothing.

Whoops missed this.
If they’d hired PC and he skipped work every day and did nothing his team would be way better.

I'll dig it up tomorrow when I'm on an actual CPU vs. my phone, but someone traced it all the way back to Messier.

Messier for nothing. Very Oilers. Gotta be a matter of days before Pete gets canned. No way can they let him deal with the trade deadline and draft.
