Blackhawks acquire center Brendan Morrison from the Flames for defenseman Brian Connelly.

Knew Connelly would get dealt this year. 2 time AHL All Star. Got potential, not sure where the disconnect with the Hawks was.

Yeah this doesn't really make sense. Brendan Morrison gives us the depth that we can trade away a center?? Like who? Maybe Kruger if they just want to keep Pirri up, but it'd be stupid to burn a year off his ELC this season.

This is an ok move that strengthens our depth without giving much up. At all. Hoping he's not another Brunette, though.

Brendan Morrison has had a fairly underrated career, having played with some pretty good players (particularly in Vancouver). I'm guessing he will get a shot at centering Chicago's second line... whether he stays there, especially at this point in his career, remains to be seen. Regardless, he provides experience and depth. A good acquisition.
