John LeClair will always be my favorite Flyer.

In the post LeClair era, I'd have to say that Timonen is my favorite player. Like Desjardins before him, he seems to fly under the national radar quite a bit

I may even go as far to say that Coburn is better than Pronger at this point.

I miss hockey. I'm going to so many AHL games when I get back home (I've already bought tickets for three games in the two week period that I'm home). It's also hard keeping in touch with the NHL out here since I can't get the Penguins on TV here. Boo.

Re: NHL 2011/2012 Thread

Getting rid of Richie and Carts wasn't a testament on their skill; we know they're good. But a change was needed. And like it was pointed out, putting Giroux on the top scoring line has enabled him to explode into a new echelon that only a few players inhabit at the moment.

The Carter deal is looking like a steal for us.

Pens cannot stay healthy. Staal down now again... pretty sure Bylsma sold his soul for that cup and now we're paying for it.

I'm excited to Williams, though. WBS representing!

All I want for Christmas is a healthy hockey team. Kind of surprised that Williams and not Tangradi was called up. I don't think Tangradi is going to be in the Pens' system much longer. I can see us packaging him and either Orpik or Martin for another winger.

Would have rather them lost and chara made it through the game. If he is out for a while they are fucked.

Tell me about it. Have you seen the NFL quarterbacks? Roethlisberger is already on easy street with those legs and one more bad tackle it'll come down to Choco Taco Joey Flacco vs. Mr. Magnificent Tom Brady for the AFC rep in the Super Bowl.

We don't have the cap space to call up Tangradi. With our current roster and Jeffrey, Lovejoy and Strait on LTIR we only have enough (LTIR) cap space for a ~615k cap hit contract. Williams has a cap hit of 600k while Tangradi has a ~845k cap hit, hence Williams was called up yesterday.

Also, i doubt Martin is moved, he has a ntc.

I'll say this though, I hope to Christ that Giroux is able to stay healthy this year. I don't want to even think about what will happen if he misses time due to a significant injury

Look what you did!

Awesome comeback. Loved seeing that fire out of the Hawks in the 3rd period + OT.

Ya, completely different team in that 3rd period, forecheck wise. Thank god that didn't go to a SO could have been ugly. Nice 2 points.

That might be an appropriate punishment if my post brought that injury down upon OMGCG
