Rocking my Giroux jersey. I have missed hockey so hard. All your teams sucks (especially the Colorado Pot Brownies)

Flyers losing already.

Some things never change.

rickyh24 10-08-2014 05:38 PM

I am going to take the Blackhawks approach and say that my team is over with and we are pathetic (this is subject to change on a game to game basis)

what are peoples opinions on the potential of this?

Re: The NHL Thread

I honestly don't see it being an issue. Its not like he would be the sole decider of the penalties, right?

Re: The NHL Thread

Why doesn't he just formally retire?

~Crashintome89~ 10-08-2014 06:27 PM

Re: The NHL Thread

Because it screws up the Flyers cap--same thing with Savard for the Bruins.

The CBA also contains a 35-and-over rule, sometimes referred to as the Mogilny rule.[8] This rule states that if a player signs a multi-year deal when the player is 35 or older, starting in the second year of the contract, that amount will count towards the team's salary cap regardless of whether the player is on the active roster or not (unless the player is on long-term injured reserve); this provision remains in effect for the 2013 CBA. This is designed to keep teams from signing older players to lucrative front-loaded contracts, thus saving cap room, in which there is no expectation the player will actually play in the latter years.

He is still paid by the flyers. It is a huge conflict of interest.

so another great game played by Steve Mason..... that results in a loss. FLYERS HOCKEY IS BACK!

JRS1386 10-08-2014 07:05 PM

Re: The NHL Thread

Mason played excellent as did Couts. Overall the Flyers didn't play awful, but really didn't play well either.

Lotta giveaways (per usual) but yeah I don't think they played terrible either. The new lines should become more fluent in time.
