CBJ only has two games outsdide of the eastern timezone (both are CST) the rest of the way. That sounds great to me.

First time 19 and 87 face each other on NHL ice.

That's fucking exciting.

Go Sabres.....

That place is garbage. Hope the Flyers start the 2nd half strong. I am looking forward to my bachelor party game meaning something more now that they have done much better than the start of the season

Ryan Miller probably can't wait. Trade Deadline day will be like Christmas morning... the best gift the Sabres could give Miller.

Nope, never. Crosby usually has some bullshit excuse like a "concussion" or some shit.

Until they trade him to the Caps. Then it's just sadness all over again. :lol

Sure lookin like it.... Won't be surprised if Miller, Ott and Moulson are all gone, and could see Ehrhoff and Stafford (Regier turned down a 1st for him from the Jets last deadline supposedly) being moved as well.

And YOU get a player! And YOU get a player! Everyone gets a player!!

I honestly kept expecting Miller to stay put because thought the Sabres would be dumb. It is good for everyone. Too bad really. Think about where they were the first two years out of the lockout to now.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

Miller decided to just take matters in to his own hands, I guess. 2 assists tonight as well as 38 saves on 40 shots.

If he won't get help elsewhere, might as well try to win it all by yourself.

my room mate is a buffalo fan and i made this comment last night: "he even has to get on the scoring sheet for you guys to win"

That is going to be a tough-ass contract to trade I would think. 7 years left on a 10yr, $40mil contract and I think he had a no trade or no movement clause anyway (not that anyone would want to stay and play for the Sabres)

I was thinking the same thing, when I was reading that at 3:30am. While I wouldn't be against him being on my team, that contract is just too much. The cap hit isn't terrible, especially with the cap going up, but 7 years remaining after this year is a lot. He'll be 38 when the contract is up.

So assuming they can find a willing partner, where do we think Miller goes?

of all the contenders the team with the most questionable goaltending IMO is Tampa. That would be an interesting spot for Miller although I doubt they would want to trade him in the dvision.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

While Miller could help them, I'd be surprised. While Bishop might not be Miller, he's 6 years younger? It would be a risk for the short term. I'd say St Louis might be an option. Halak is a UFA and so it Elliott. Miller would be an upgrade, imo, and you could probably get a shorter term deal with him, than what Halak would want being 28 years old. You've got Allen coming up so let Miller be the guy for a few years.

Sounds like Bolland wants 7-8 years at $5mil per. This guy has clearly gotten into the Canadian whacky-tobaccy.

He's looking at Clarkson getting the contract he got, from this team. Over their careers, they both average about the same amount of goals per game. And this year? He's got 6 goals in just 15 games while Clarkson has 4 in 39..... Not saying he's worth it but he's got an argument with Leafs management.

My buddy posted a great status the other day:

"Jonathan Toews could retire today a Hall of Famer. At 25 years of age, he has won a U-17 tournament gold medal, two World Junior Championship gold medals, two Olympic gold medals, two Stanley Cups, a Conn Smythe trophy, a Selke trophy...Blackhawks fans are so lucky to have this guy."

St. Louis is the team that keeps popping up for Miller. You'd hope Murray would do the guy a solid and send him to a contender.

On that note, what's Miller contract like in terms of a NMC? Does he have any say?

Per capgeek, he can list 8 teams he will NOT go to. So in theory, sounds like Buffalo could send him to 21 teams without asking him. My guess is, from Murray's comments, they'd run it by him.

Yeah other than maybe Edmonton, Florida or Calgary I'm guessing he'd be open to anything else. St Louis or Washington would be my guesses. However, do I think he's the answer for the Caps? Not really.
