I once saw Vermette take a penalty, go to the box, and proceed to pull a juice box out of his pants and sip away. True story.

Phoenix/Atlanta game in 2010.

^ Edit: It was Columbus/Atlanta. I went back to the old 10/11 thread but couldn't find anything with me saying that back then. I swear I would have. It was one of the greatest things I'd ever seen.

Leafs are falling and Edmonton is climbing. Can we make it to 3rd worst? oh how glorious that would be!

I just don't see Nashville beating us out.

I have no idea why you're so confident in that. They've been playing pretty shitty as a team lately, and have just been squeeking out wins they don't deserve (Carolina, for example).

I'm not so sure they'll finish in front of Minnesota, even, forget Nashville.

I remember Dale Hunter used to keep cans of Diet Coke in the penalty box at the Caps Center. Pretty sure he did at Verizon (MCI) Center too.

I remember, as a Flyers fan, Dale Hunter being a P.O.S.

I remember Dale Hunter never winning a Cup and being swept by the Wings in his one trip to the finals.

Re: The NHL Thread

I've said in here multiple times I'm not a Dale Hunter fan. Guy was a huge POS, goon level was through the roof, incredibly overrated by the fans in Washington. The fact that his number is retired is, quite frankly, shameful

I was just pointing out a similarity in how he and Antoine Vermette spend their penalty box time

:lol :lol

If it wasn't for your constant reminders, I'm sure I would have no recollection of the time the Red Wings swept the Capitals in the Finals.

krejci back tonight.

Claude's not breaking up the pastrnak - lucic - spooner line. first line will be nasty. Marchand - Bergeron - Krejci. should product a goal or two so they'll lose 5-2

Re: The NHL Thread

Wings need to pull their heads out of their asses tonight. Friday and Sunday were good defensively and Howie was good. Last game, got the offense going but Jimmy was rough. Get it going together, they'll be great.

Re: The NHL Thread

Caps win and Isles lose & Pen lose in regulation will make the Metro race interesting again. Caps would be behind 3 points with a game in hand.

Caps have the most difficult remaining schedule in the Eastern Conference. Home vs Preds, Away vs. Rags, Home vs. Carolina, then away at Montreal, Ottawa, Detroit. End last two home Bruins & Rags. Good warm up for playoff hockey

Brohan_Santana 03-26-2015 01:30 PM

Re: The NHL Thread

Caps really need to ignite there secondary scoring though. This team has been barely skating by because of Ovechkin/Backstrom, PP, and Holtby. Really need to get the lines going. Hopefully there is a cure that is called the New Jersey Devils

I can do a little more than that.

Hawks are lost without Kane.

Flames will beat out Kings for final spot. Bruins will make the playoffs and take the Rags to Game 7.

Giroux is one of the most overrated players in the league.

Penguins won't make it past the 1st round.

Edmonton is actually very talented team that for some reason just wants to suck. Eberle & Nugent-Hop are my 2 favorite players right now that are Caps.

Talbot >>> Hank

That's it for now

I mean, I get it. But no. You don't sit the best goalie on the planet because the back up played well while he was injured.

Re: The NHL Thread

Thanks Bruins for choking and Rangers for kicking ass. Wings got beyond lucky last night. Mrazek already slated to start Saturday. Can't blame it all on Howie cause guys are turning it over left and right and giving up quality scoring chances but something needs to change and fast. You can't hope for the Sens and Bruins to keep losing while you do. Just so weird that last FRiday and Sunday they just couldn't score but Howie was standing on his head. Then the last two they can't keep the puck out but have scored 8.
