Kid myself? Max Talbot scored two of the biggest goals he will ever score then disappeared unless it was from some used car commercial.

Again, I love reading this thread, and I'll try to keep from getting into this too much but the hatred from Chicago people towards Vancouver is funny. After this I'll leave it to hockey and the people who know more than I do as I can't watch as much as I used to. I've lived in both. Chicago is a great city! And Vanvouver is one of the best in the world. If you think Vancouver is slightly above average, I'd like to see a list of cities you've been to and a rank so I can get a better view of your stupidity. Dislike for a hockey team is one thing, having an ignorant view of an entire city is kinda pathetic.

It's just facts

Not according to anyone who rates the qualities of cities. As far as hockey, sure. Chicago fans might be the most sensitive I've ever met.

I hate most Boston teams but I'm not ignorant enough to say the city is barely average. Like I said I like reading this thread and learn a lot from it as I can't watch much anymore, so I try to not to respond to much, but some of these comments just make me laugh! Just looking forward to watching another season online! Go Leafs!

They really are. If a player looks at their player the wrong way, it becomes a rivalry.

Dunc is quite obviously referring to things NHL-related. The team is full of assholes, the rioting was a fucking embarrassment to the city and the sport in general, and now the city council wants to point the finger at the NHL for not having some sort of crowd-control policy in place. :freak

No one in Vancouver is owning up to the fact that they just didn't have what it took to win the Cup. The players, the coaches, the rioters, the city council.

I applaud the true hockey fans in Vancouver that stayed in the arena and watched the awarding of the Cup, and of course thousands across the country that respectfully supported their team through the loss. (Philly's Game 7 comeback the year prior taught me well how to just bite my tongue and congratulate my opponent.) But Vancouver's been dragged through the mud by those who can't do that, and absolutely, a few bad apples have spoiled the bunch.

I know Vancouver is a wonderful city. Boston is awesome, New York is awesome, Chicago is awesome, and Vancouver is awesome. But come on man, you're in the NHL thread. It comes with the territory. Stop getting so defensive.

EDIT: Oh and, to the bolded, sorry about that :shrug

:lol:lol Fuck off. Seriously.

I'm far from ignorant. I've traveled A LOT for my age. I'm almost 24, have been to 4 continents (Europe, Asia, North and South America), almost every State in America (need Alaska, the Dakotas, and New Mexico to finish it off), Mexico 3 times, Canada 4 (including Vancouver), and other places like the Virgin Islands.

I don't hate Vancouver because of hockey. I really hate a couple guys on their hockey team, sure. I think they're classless goons. But I'm no moron who bases his judgement of a city on my feelings toward their hockey team.

Yeah, except it is according to almost anyone who rates cities. Chicago is pretty consistently ranked as a top 10 city in the world both to live in and to visit.

Now, I haven't ever lived anywhere else besides the Chicago area (went to college in DeKalb, IL), but I have definitely been around a ton of major cities in this world. Vancouver absolutely doesn't crack the top 10. Let's see a couple other perspectives, eh?

http://www.businessinsider.com/best-...#11-chicago-30

Chicago, #11. Tell me, please, what number is Vancouver on that list of 40? (SPOILER ALERT: You won't find it).

This is just a quick search I did of best cities. Don't like BI's take? How about this one:

http://guyism.com/lifestyle/askmen-c...in-is-out.html

Another list WITH Chicago and without Vancouver.

Again, not satisfied with those two? How about a third opinion?

http://www.theatlantic.com/business/...38436/#slide20

Chicago consistently ranks as one of the greatest cities in the world, while Vancouver doesn't. I'm not saying I don't enjoy the city, I definitely enjoyed myself when I went there, but to 1) say I'm ignorant on this topic and 2) believe Vancouver is some profoundly great city is ridiculous.

I will say this, I do know that Vancouver has a very high quality of life index (as do most cities in Canada), and I'm sure it's a fine city to live in.

This thread is getting dumb, what with city fighting, and all. You all sound like DMBc arguing between The Gorge and Alpine, frankly. Pre-season games start in three weeks. How 'bout focusing on that?

Anyhow, just noticed that the Sabres got a new deal on arena naming rights (and maybe it's just that the bank that's had it just got re-named again, but still, DAMMIT!). Like it didn't take me long enough to stop calling the place "The Marena" (short for Marine Midland Arena--it's on the Niagara river) before I got used to HSBC, but now it's the "First Niagara Center"? At least it still fits the area, but dammit, I hate learning new arena names. I still forget what the Florida Panthers' arena (shut up, it's what passes for my home venue these days) is called half the time, what with four different names in 10 years.

Well, since Stars fans don't actually exist, has anyone been to the American Airlines Center for a Stars game? I got tickets in 202 row D for the Hawks season opener.
