While I was disappointed having to wait until Friday, also gives me two days of just watching everyone else.

Best time of year. LOVE the first round because you never have any idea what's gonna happen. Plus, hockey on every freaking night (a few times a night) for 2 weeks. Fuck the NBA. The unpredictability is what helps make this great.

guys, I am so so so excited. This is my favorite time of year

Seriously. Even teams I hate have exciting games that I love watching, just as a hockey fan. I mean, fuck the Blues, but remember this gem?

Playoff hockey is the absolute greatest thing ever.

He was unreal. That's all it takes sometimes. The inability to figure out a goaltender and boom, all the sudden you're eliminated.

I remember being up for the Steen goal and was flipping between the Wings/Ducks and that one, thinking the Blues were gonna lose cause of that penalty, and as soon as I come back, bam it's over...to the team I didn't think. I mean how many times are OT winners shorthanded?

Gonna miss Trotz but it was time for a change. Wish him luck wherever he goes.

:thumbsup As our resident Preds insider, is the Nashville fan base generally of this opinion?

That's my plan. Plus the wait helps with some of the injured. Bruins haven't met with the Red Wings since 1957. This series is going to be a beauty.

I'm all about guys getting healthy. Zetterberg going to practice tomorrow. Still no time table on his return though.

I really want both teams to be healthy. I was hoping we'd meet later in the playoffs because I respect the hell out of the Wings. This might come down to which goalie will crack first, I just can't wait!

Absolutely. These should be 2-1 or 3-2 games. One fluke goal could flip the series from a Wings win to a Bruins win or the other way around. If it's anything like that game a few weeks ago, it should be fun. Also could put me in the hospital for what it would do to my heart, but whatever.

Sounds like a great fit for both parties... until he gets the gig in Toronto or Vancouver.

bonzo48280 04-14-2014 04:02 PM

I'm sure he's staying with them for now, until another team offers him a job

Forgot it was Easter. Hope I don't have to go up to my wife's family thing. They might have the game on but no one there knows hockey like me and I hate when people chime in with shit.

Like I told someone else in this thread not long ago, divorce is always an option.

Pretty much. Most people respect the hell out of him but realized that it's time for a change. I'm sensing very little ill will towards him, but a few people are upset that it was him and not Poile that got the ax.

He's received an offer to stay with the organization but I'd say he'll probably go somewhere else.

I don't know if Maurice is going anywhere. He got the team to be competitive. Trotz would be a good fit there however.

In non playoff news, Torts managed to pull one more good one during his time as Canucks head coach. This time he called a reporter an asshole

I actually think Washington might be an interesting fit. Not sure if anyone will really WANT to coach there though
