Still waiting on confirmation from Big 3 on Vanek... no announcement of other trade details yet.

B's can't win with that guy.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

Pierre LeBrun ‏@Real_ESPNLeBrun now Vanek to Montreal in exchange for a 2nd round pick and a prospect

:lol nice job, Snow.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

Prospect and pick it sounds like for Vanek. Snow still screwed it up. Better than nothing but...

I'm very very nervous the Capitals got Halak. I've heard Halak for Neuvirth, Klesla and a 3rd. Possibly an issue with getting it done by 3

Guy is so deadly against us, he's the type who will end our season.

Read a couple tweets that another Buffalo trade was awaiting call... But again, nothing from the Big 3, who are the only ones I really hold as gospel when it comes to this stuff.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

Ehrhoff more likely to go than Halak based on what I've seen

I imagine Garth Snow just off crying in a dark room right now with a bottle of Jack.

I think other teams (LA and Anaheim) fucked up more than Snow with Vanek.

Rebecca De Mornay 03-05-2014 03:28 PM

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

seriously, depending on who the prospect is LA almost gave more for Gaborik.

HallowBillies7 03-05-2014 03:28 PM

@RealJackEdwards: On WEEI now. Vanek 62 pts in 53 games lifetime vs. Boston.

That's just not fair :lol

I'm guessing LA knew earlier and that's why they went with Gaborik.

EDIT: And then the asking price went down after they made the Gabby deal.

But yeah, Anaheim seemed to be in prime position to swoop him up. Wonder what happened. You have to think they wouldn't at least match what MTL ended up paying.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread

I will reserve judgement til I hear who the prospect is. Maybe he overplayed his hand. Prospect better be someone who can play in NHL this year. No ahl crud thank you.

Right. I just would rather have paid that for Vanek than what LA did for Gaborik.

And the Ducks feel like they're still behind the Chicago's and St. Louis's of the West, a Vanek would have been huge for them.

Worried the move for Legwand meant bad news for Helm or Weiss but a guy who writes for the Wings replied to me and said it doesn't necessarily mean that.

I would just consider Weiss gone at this point. What a bust.

Sebastien Collberg. Not familiar with him.

EDIT: Matt Larkin ‏@THNMattLarkin 1m Disappointing return for Isles. Collberg rated as Montreal's No. 6 prospect in Future Watch. Would've expected de la Rose, Fucale, etc

Halak possibly traded. Nevermind Matt :lol

Soooooo... Garth traded Moulson, a 1st round pick, and a 2nd round pick for a 2nd round pick and an AHLer

It's all part of the plan...
