The Flyers are 1-0 when I get completely wasted. Time to start filling the fridge up.

If winning the Stanley Cup means you becoming a raging alcoholic, then I am in full support.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread
If covering a Stanley Cup Final (a huge dream of mine) means your liver dies then I will support your drinking probl... err solution. Cheers!

Here's the video they showed at Foote's jersey retirement: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0OvTnoKWrk
What a brute :lol . Some things the video illustrates really well, but often aren't mentioned when talking about Footer, are his positioning (watch how good he was at getting sticks or skates in the lane) and how good a skater he was. He could chase down just about any body in his early/prime days. |
Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread
The black helmets with the white home (at the time) jerseys looks weird.

I know no one here likes Cheli but this is a nice piece on him. And even if you don't like him this part has to impress you. The Red Wings had just won the Stanley Cup. Chelios could have gone out on top, but he agreed to a one-year, $750,000 contract for 2008-09. He met GM Ken Holland at Joe Louis Arena to sign the documents, then mentioned he was biking home. “Biking home?” Holland asked. “Yeah, yeah,” Chelios said. “I biked down.” “You live in Bloomfield Hills.” “I know.” Bloomfield Hills is in Detroit’s northern suburbs. It is more than 20 miles up Woodward Avenue from downtown. Chelios was 46. |

But I will say this about Chelios: You don't play into your mid-forties by driving everywhere and eating fast food. That guy is a shining example on how to take care of yourself physically. |

So Wings go 3-0, beating the Canucks and throttling the Oilers, but can't beat the Jets?? Congrats to Danny DeKeyser on his first NHL goal though. And that was a rocket of a shot.

Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread
Rangers had a good 2nd and 3rd period last night, but totally fell apart in the last 3-5 minutes of the 3rd. What the hell was that?

This Stars game is going to get ugly real fast it looks like.

This Hurricanes/Flyers game might be the worst NHL game I have ever seen.
|
Seguin and Peverley score in the shootout to win, that hurts the ego a bit.

yep.:shrug:shrug:shrug:shrug
But the Sox just won the World Series and the Pats are in first place.:D |
Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread
Flyers fans -
Was tonight basically what they've looked like all year, or were they especially bad tonight? Because they looked like they would be an average AHL team tonight. |
Re: The NHL 2013-14 Thread
Milbury and I actually agree on something. He just said that in his 40 years of hockey, he would probably rank tonight's Flyers/Hurricanes in the Top 5 worst NHL games.
I'm honestly curious, I know the Flyers have been bad....but is this basically their story all season or was tonight exceptionally bad? |
